Turmeric Chai Latte

fullsizeoutput_854.jpegThis Latte is mine, and my families, favorite drink throughout the winter season. It is perfect for cozying up next to the fire and watching a movie or reading your favorite book. However, I only recently found out about all of the health benefits of turmeric this last October.
It turns out turmeric is known for being a natural Anti-Inflammatory, which helps our bodies fight off bacteria. It is also a powerful antioxidant, and helps stimulates your body's own antioxidant enzymes. It lowers the ​risk of heart disease, brain disease, Alzheimer's, depression, and even cancer.
The reason to mix turmeric with chai tea is that your body absorbs curcumin(a compound found in turmeric) approximately 2,000% better when taken with black pepper, which is one of the ingredients in chai tea, and sometimes I even add a little extra.
So if you are looking for something healthy and delicious to drink this winter this is definitely the drink for you!

Serves Four
Ingredients
2 c. Water
2 1/2c. Almond Milk
1 tsp. Turmeric
4 tea bags. Chai Tea
1 tsp. Vanilla
4 Tbs. Honey

Directions
First, add the Water & Almond Milk to a pot over medium heat. Then, add the 4 Tea Bags & Turmeric, and let simmer for 5 minutes. Lastly, add in the Vanilla & Honey and stir until melted. Pour into two mugs and enjoy with whipped cream.
