While pumpkin is a popular fall flavor, I am such a big fan of pumpkin pie that I indulge in this amazing autumnal treat year round. I have made so many of these pies over the years that I have managed to perfect my recipe and come up with a few interesting variations.
Here is the recipe for my basic pumpkin pie. It’s super simple to throw together and such a scrumptious pie that it’s sure to please everyone who tastes it. And it’s even better when topped with a pile of whipped cream or ice cream.
Ingredients:
- 1 can of pumpkin puree
- 14 ounces (1 can) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon ground clove
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 prepared pie crust
- Preheat oven to 425℉.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin, milk, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, salt and ginger.
- Pour the batter in to the prepared crust, bake for 15 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 350℉, bake for 35-40 minutes, until crust is golden brown.
There you have it, making pumpkin pie is truly easy as pie!
