This easy variation on a beloved staple is an awesome way to mix up your butter game. Adding the honey to the butter gives it a subtle sweet note, and the cinnamon is the perfect spice buddy for this spread. Whipping the butter gives it an airy fluffiness that makes it perfect for spreading on toast, muffins, or sweet breads. I use this on a baked sweet potato to bring out the inherent sweetness of the vegetable.
I added clove to this batch of honey cinnamon butter, and it was an excellent choice, so I've included it in the recipe. But feel free to omit the clove if you are not a fan of the flavor.
This can be kept at room temperature, covered for several days. If you want it to last longer, place the whipped butter in an air-tight container and store in the refrigerator.
Ingredients:
-6 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground clove
Place all of the ingredients in a medium mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer on medium, until light and fluffy. Transfer to a container with an airtight lid or spread on some toast for a delicious snack.
Perfect for the holidays. @pinkspectre Thank you so much!
