Made it for years in my family and it was passed down from a previous generation and my son’s favorite. Try my rice pudding and you won’t be disappointed, everyone will love it!

Serves: 6-8
- ½ cup of long grain rice
- ½ cup of sugar
- one quart plus 2 cups of whole milk divided
- one teaspoon of vanilla extract
- one beaten egg
- pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Pour hot water over ½ cup of rice. Drain and pour into pot. Add ½ cup of sugar and one quart (32 oz) of whole milk and bring to a boil. (do not use a lid) Turn heat down to simmer for 45 minutes. Stirring occasionally.
- Add one teaspoon of vanilla, pinch of salt, one beaten egg and two cups of remaining milk. Bring to a boil for a few minutes. Pour into festive serving dish and sprinkle with cinnamon.
