True love: "First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift". Matthew 5:24

Jesus after being baptized by the prophet John in the Jordan River, announces the Kingdom of God in the Sermon on the Mount. There Jesus explains in a series of teachings, reminiscent of the book of Deuteronomy, how the behavior of those who want to enter the Kingdom of Heaven should be, this behavior is exposed in a principle: "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.", Matthew 7:12.
To love God is above all to love our brothers, Jesus explains to us, true love is not the love of the soul (Philia), the love that is born from the pleasure of seeing ourselves reflected in the other, but the love of Charity, the love projected towards all living beings, the Agape love: "´Simon son of John, do you Agape (love of the spirit) me more than these?´ ´Yes Lord´, he said, ´you know that I Philia (love of the soul) you.´", John 21:15.
Jesus teaches us that we cannot truly worship God (John 4:24) if we are in conflict with our brothers: "You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ´You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.´ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ´Raca´, is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ´You fool!´ will be in danger of the fire of hell.
Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift", Matthew 5:21-24.

He who sins against his brother also sins against God. Jesus with this also gives us to understand the progressive nature of sin, big sins such as homicides begin with small sins such as speaking badly of others, the slander, there are different ways to kill a person, not just physical.
