God is our redeemer: I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Isaiah 44:22

The prophet Isaiah in his book openly condemned idolatry, the worship of money as the only goal of man and the devotion to false idols, and declared the importance of monotheism as the only way to salvation and the spiritual enlightenment, God in his eternal wisdom is our only spiritual redeemer, this oracle of Isaiah would later have a profound influence on the Christian faith: "I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God" Isaiah 44:6. Idolatry is in the Bible a particularly serious sin, because with it, come all other abominations, the prophet Isaiah warned us.
Isaiah prophesied in his oracles the fall of the city of Jerusalem and the kingdom of Judah, at the hands of the Babylonian empire, for the sins of their kings and his people. But God is also spiritual love (Agape) and mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness) and redeems men from their sins, that is why the Lord is also the God of hope, reminded to us Isaiah, the Lord never forgets his people, and his covenant made with Abraham, Moses, and David:
"Remember these things, Jacob,
for you, Israel, are my servant.
I have made you, you are my servant;
Israel, I will not forget you.
I have swept away your offenses like a cloud,
your sins like the morning mist.
Return to me,
for I have redeemed you." Isaiah 44:21-22.
The action of God among men did not stop with the deportation of the Jews to Babylon, the Lord in his eternal providence, remembered his people raising someone very special. The prophet Isaiah spoke to us of a Messiah, a benefactor, who would oppose the oppression of the Babylonians; and this leader, this king of the persians and medes, the king Cyrus, would a person inspired and guided by God:
"Who says of Cyrus, ´He is my shepherd
and will accomplish all that I please;
he will say of Jerusalem, ´Let it be rebuilt,´
and of the temple, ´Let its foundations be laid.´" Isaiah 44:28.
