Spiritual reflection of the Bible: Do not reproach one who turns away from sin; remember, we all are guilty. Ben Sira 8:5

The Bible teaches us that no one is exempt from sin, or in other words, no one can be good to everyone. Pleasing God does not mean not sinning, because all human beings are subject to error; pleasing God means not making sin a habit but the exception, and when the sin is committed there must be a purpose for amendment.
And the Bible gives us many examples of this truth. King David, who was always an example of integrity in the Bible, committed a sin against Uriah, an officer in his army, by causing his death to marry his wife, the beautiful Bathsheba.
King Solomon, who led the Kingdom of Israel to its time of greatest glory and splendor thanks to his intelligent administration, sinned against God by allowing the idolatry of his numerous foreign wives. All this leaves man with a very precise teaching, the spiritual perfection as such is impossible to achieve, only God is perfect.
This is why the master of wisdom Ben Sira gave in his book an interesting spiritual reflection: "Do not reproach one who turns away from sin; remember, we all are guilty" Ben Sira 8:5.
Being compassionate, benevolent, and always predisposed to forgiveness, and especially with those who want to correct their path, this is one of the great sapiential teachings of the sacred scriptures; he who fears God and faithfully practices the law must always keep this in mind. We all need the forgiveness.
The prophet Moses left us an important commandment: "Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength" Deuteronomy 6:5. How can we love God if we are not willing to forgive our brothers?
Wisdom invites us to humility, to recognize our faults first of all, and to avoid the arrogance of criticizing others first; Only then can we be truly happy and blessed.
