- Syrian Civil War started in 2011 and is still ongoing. The Civil War has corrupted families and cities. Other countries started bombing the “bad guys” which also included citizens. Because of these bombings, many people and families are left in terror and want refuge. Families started moving to neighbor countries which caused the biggest crisis of the 21st century. Now it’s known as the Syrian Refugee Crisis. More than 470,000 people have died in the Civil War and more are to die unless other countries accept them. Only a few countries have accepted the refugees fleeing from war zones and I’m pretty sure more can accept. If we can’t accept other humans into our own land believe me our humanity is fading away. We have to put our selves on their shoes and feel what it would be like being a refugee who keeps on getting denied to enter a country. These people are just trying to find a safe place for their family, they’re not coming to bring terror, they’re running away from terror. As said by Warsan Shire, “No one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark.” Since we can’t change the law or do anything special, we can at least donate to the Syrian Refugee Camps which hold refugees who are being denied to enter other countries. These Refugees have witnessed horrible things and donating money to the organizations that feed them would help a lot.
Three Poems By Me
- How we come here I don’t know
Even the world does not know
Live they say like a bird
Palaces can’t hold the dirt
- Run! Run!
Evil will catch up
Forever you’ll be running up
Until you reach the fence
God will give you defence
Everything will be fine
Except the soul will not shine
Seek refuge and you will get some guideline
- They say it’s not a big deal
Even though they see it
But what’s truly happening is unreal
Our families get split
The bombs come in whistling in the sky
Leaving the ground without a soul
Making me deny
The fact that the earth is still a whole
People have no idea
What it’s like to see your neighbor die
The soul just goes free
Up into the sky

- This is a picture of a little boy who drowned on September 2, 2015, in the Mediterranean Sea and was washed up on the in Turkey. Turkish officials identified the boy as 3-year-old Aylan Kurdi. What this shows is that some refugees are being denied to enter other lands. We need to open our arms and let other people in. Thousands of other people have drowned trying to move to other countries and start a new and a peaceful life. All the little boy wanted was a peaceful life ad look at what happened. This is inhumane and should not happen.

- Many people know this quote but don’t apply it. Many people focus on dividing countries and separating groups. What we really should be focusing on is building bridges as used in the quote or connecting with each other and letting others come in and go. Only a few countries have accepted the refugees fleeing from war zones and those countries can accept more refugees. The refugees are only seeking for safe haven and these countries are just watching them suffer.

- This data was recorded from January 12th, 2012 to September 13th, 2013. The number of refugees going to different countries grew rapidly on these days. The most change was between April 13th of 2013 to July 13th. About 750,000 refugees started moving to new countries on these days. As you can see the number of refugees grow everyday and the refugee camps are getting more packed and packed. We need to accept more refugees because more and more bombings occur everyday and camps can’t hold anymore of the refugees. We just have to be more open armed and accept more of refugees.
