Burton On Trent Boating Regatta Day

it was a sublime day today weather wise, the heat and the breeze was just perfect, the ice cream shop was doing amazing business and it looks like this year they have invested in a hot dog machine as well. been a while since i’ve been to burton so it was a nice saturday change of pace.

the burton bridge got a bit of a makeover pretty recently, that thing has been there over a hundred odd years without a refurb, it certainly needed it and it seemed like it was going to be closed for ages overtime i went by, it’s nice to see it in such good shape, a super fast quick route to get in and out of the town centre by electric bike! - fond memories of zipping down that to get ella from the train station! :)

the morning seemed to zip by today, as i’ve not be going up to mums that extra few hours that i would have with ella seems extra short, i’ve really noticed how short that time is, i’m hoping i can be in a position to have her more in the week at some point, the weekends can go by really quickly, hard to believe it’s not 7:30pm as i’m writing this, that last six hours just flew by, time flies eh. blink and you miss it! :)

the burton regatta is a nice day out, lots of boats, lots of racing and different clubs from all over the midlands (a region in england, in the middle, mid-lands) they have found, tents, refreshments and you often get a crowd cheering on the teams and people shouting at relatives trying to get them to row faster, it’s a good family day.

even stopped and had a chat with a polish guy and his girlfriend as they were test flying their mavic pro drone, the picture quality on that thing really is incredible. i think he was shooting and recording in 4k. super crystal clear quality shot, i’d love to play with that, he said you can fly up to 7km away which is insane, i would not want to risk that. knowing my luck it would just fall out of the sky over a bit stretch of water, some of the shots he was getting were amazing thou — i’d love one of them.
