Allow Me To Re-Introduce Myself, My Name Is...

in reintroducemyself •  8 years ago  (edited)

All in the span of a week I've gone from Steem Agnostic, to a Steem Believer, made a lot of Steem, lost a lot of Steem (thanks @berniesanders) and have ignited the Steemosphere with controversy.

A lot of people have questions, doubts or concerns about my intentions here and so I want to make those clear in this post.

And, since a lot of the shrapnel that has been thrown my way has been because my intro post "wasn't very good", let me correct that now.

And, for the record, the reason my intro post "wasn't very good" was because I had NO idea that I would receive such a response.  For all I knew, I was going to make a quick post on this "new website" and not hear another word about it and then move on.

I obviously thought wrong!

ALLOW ME TO RE-INTRODUCE MYSELF, MY NAME IS...

(Thanks to @stellabelle for the free make-over, she does them on Steemit and as you can see she is really good)

Jeff Berwick.

Born in Canada, hated the government indoctrination camps (school), never went, did a deal with my Mom and the Principle to just go for the tests.  Would read the textbook the night before or morning of, and write as much of the useless dates and information as I could on my arms and legs to get 50% to pass.

The rest of the time, since 12 years old in 1982, I was on my Apple II+ clone computer called a Unitron that I had to build myself with a soldering iron because we were too poor to afford the real deal.

Aside from a short rap career, I muddled along in various odd jobs until I heard about the internet in 1993.  I was working at a bank at the time as an investment advisor and I started a website called Stockhouse.com because I was interested in the stock market.

I began to write about stocks on the site in 1995 and the site grew dramatically.  It got to the point where if I wrote about a penny stock it would rise 50%+ the next day because everyone wanted to buy it.  I still had no money though and so I did a deal with my bank manager to let me work 95% of the time on my website in exchange for stock tips.

Eventually the site grew even bigger and was already the top financial website in Canada in 1996 and I decided to quit my job to the shock of everyone I knew.  "How could you quit your good job at a bank to try to do something on this new thing called the internet?" they decried.  "The internet will never catch on," they said.

I went into $200,000 of credit card debt to build the company, at one point making my bank manager (who I used to work for) think I had a drug problem.

But, by the year 2000, it was in eight countries around the world, had 250 staff, had raised more than $40 million in financing and was valued at $240 million.

By the end of 2001, it was nearly worthless and bankrupt after the tech bubble collapsed.

My partner tried to commit suicide and I scrambled for a year trying to save it and finally did and then sold it for pennies (compared to $240 million), exhausted, in 2003.  Stockhouse.com, 20 years later, still remains the most trafficked financial website in Canada.

I then tried sailing around the world, with zero sailing experience (I left the day I bought the boat and nearly sank it three times the first night).  I eventually sank it in El Salvador, ironically, because by then I was actually a good sailor just caught in a bad circumstance.

After going to nearly 100 countries, having made a movie in China with Jackie Chan, lived in Thailand and read everything I could on Austrian economics and the philosophy of liberty and anarchism I decided to move to Mexico to "settle down for a while" (many of my adventures are recorded in my personal blog at berwick.com).

I met my wife there and ended up adopting a 3 year old girl and then incorporating her 6 year old son into our new little family which also includes five dogs.

In 2010 I started The Dollar Vigilante, which has since become the fastest growing financial newsletter in the world and the only newsletter of our size with regular coverage of cryptocurrencies.

I found out about bitcoin in 2011 and have been one of its biggest promoters ever since, having been one of the first people on CNBC, Fox Business, Bloomberg and many others talking about bitcoin as far back as 2013.

Everyone called me crazy then too.  They said bitcoin was a scam or a ponzi scheme... or would never catch on.  Sound familiar?

In 2011 I began a podcast which has become the largest anarcho-capitalist podcast in the world, Anarchast.  It has over 3 million views on Youtube and we are just about to hit our 300th episode this week.  It is also broadcast on dozens of radio stations in the US and across the world via the Liberty Radio Network.

In 2015 I launched the world's first and largest anarcho-capitalist conference, Anarchapulco.  It has doubled in size every year and could exceed 1,000 attendees in 2017.

And then, on August 4th of this year (my first week anniversary!) I discovered Steem and Steemit!

Since then I have appeared for nearly two hours straight on national radio in the US talking about Steemit, interviewed the founders of Steem, @dan and @ned for Anarchast (over 30,000 views to date on FB and YT) and have worked my entire network of friends to bring in big name people in the liberty sphere onto Steemit.

Here are just a few who I have brought in:

And many, many more (btw all of those people are past and future speakers at Anarchapulco).  Through just those alone, according to this post, Steemit has been exposed to 500,000+ people.

And I am working on many more even bigger names.  I'm currently trying to convince a friend named Milo, amongst others.

In other words, in my first week, I have been responsible for exposure of Steemit to well over half a million people... and I am just getting started.

My goal is to bring in one million new users to Steemit by the end of the year.  And, I fully expect if we can keep this thing together that Facebook and other social media sites will have to change their business model or buyout Steemit (good luck) within 2 years.  Why?  Because I think Steemit could change EVERYTHING in the social media world.  I've been through the advent of the internet and the advent of bitcoin and was called crazy at the time for saying I think they would change everything.  I put my money and my mouth behind them both.

And I am doing that with Steem.  Since arriving I cashed out 3 bitcoin worth of Steem just to make sure it worked.  I have since transferred it back in and have powered up every Steem dollar I have earned on the platform and intend to do so for the foreseeable future.

Stay tuned and follow me here on Steemit as I have a lot more in the works.  I am interviewing @larkenrose and @dragonanarchist on Anarchast early next week to talk Steemit and also doing a debate with Tone Vays, who thinks Steemit is a scam or ponzi scheme.

If you look at Facebook or Youtube when I have talked about Steemit you'll see dozens of people calling me crazy, saying I am a scammer and Steemit is a scam or worse.  I'm taking a beating out there in the world outside of Steemit for my passion for the platform.

But I'm used to it, I did the same with the internet and bitcoin in their earliest days.  And even still to this day some people say I'm an idiot for being so passionate about bitcoin.

There's always going to be haters.  I even have haters here on Steemit of all places!

None of it will stop me.  I'm on board the Steem train and it has just left the station!  Who's with me?

I was hoping maybe you were a Deadpool fan, or could appreciate the quote along with the makeup. You buck the trend and have humor similar to this anti-hero (although he is really a hero in many ways and comparisons can clearly be made between you even though you are much better looking).

And I'm also glad that you can take a good joke. Feel free to photoshop my head onto whatever you feel appropriate.

I love creativity so whoever makes the best one may receive their own special reward (in $SBD to be determined) haha! If it's a great one submit it here, but I will also check #bendjmiller222dollarvigilante if you wish to create it there.

Would like to keep up the great conversation here about what @dollarvigilate is doing to help out steemit by bringing some great minds to the platform.

Haha steemit is definitely a place for those who go against the norm.

Man I lost it! Hahaha! Dollarpool... Wham!

Haha steemit is definitely a place for those who go against the norm.

ikr! haha earning money while against the norm. I fkn love this place :D

Oh, hot dam! This is freaking hilarious! However, I believe Dan needs to hold pitchfork, for his ideas were the ones that screamed, "WORLD DOMINATION"

Great to know that you studied both stellabelle - I focused on Dan only as he is the wizard. But I trust your assessment that Ned as his shepherd is/was essential.

I'm sure Dan is also getting excellent experience and advice from daddy Stan. So far I like what I've seen/read from Stan and the history he reveals in pieces ;-)

Question - I think I remember you saying somewhere a few weeks back you have interviewed them when you were visiting? Have you published that interview somewhere?

Keep up your great work with being almost everywhere - and get some sleep in between ;-)

Ned ordered me to delete the video for security reasons. I think I understand why, but I'm not 100% sure. Ned is the CEO, so I have to follow his orders. What I really wanted people to see, though is @theoretical and @dan talking. It was so amusing to me! @theoretical is a mathematical genius. He reminded me of Spock actually! Maybe I will make them into gifs! You cannot censor the gif!

Too bad about the security issues. Looking forward to follow @theoretical and am glad to know that Dan has excellence surrounding him. Not that I'm surprised ;-)
Looking forward to the picks with the blockchainspock!
Jeff has proven that your gifs can even influence the most powerful anarchists - so keep up showing us your non-writing powers and multi-task talents ;-)

Like that? @stellabelle

yes! Ned is Dan's shepherd! At least that's the way it appears to me metaphorically! I can see an entire new art genre! Shall we build the art commons???? Yes, because Dan was hard at work crafting his algorithms, his philosophy and his infrastructure, and Ned came along years after Dan's intensive and mind-boggling work, Dan definitely needs the pitchfork. Ned's genius lies in his ability to synthesize complexities for the common man and woman. Ned also is very skilled with finance, business, people and relating, which is so paramount to success. I think without Ned, Steemit would not be where it is today.......that's my opinion, of course. They are perfectly matched for one another, it's almost scary. Actually, it is the main reason I decided to go head first into Steemit. I studied them intensely to see if they were the right team. YES was the answer. They're both geniuses, in different aspects. Dan, of course is the wizard, though.

Dan Larimer already has a parody twitter account! Who is running it?

YES! holy shit that twitter page is absolutely amazing. I'm going to send some of my pics to them to add to the collection!

Haha I love all the creativity / humor along with the thoughtful comments to balance it out.

Oh wow, he probably forgot mentioning his archery skills, while smoking a cig, apparently

Dollarvigilante is a crypto pimp. Thanks dude!!!!!!!

Born in Canada,

flag... (just kidding)

Side note to my comments on your earlier post. There was really an opportunity to handle the situation like a gaping asshole and you didn't. Which is laudable IMO, since its most people's first gut reaction to having a post flagged (especially a potentially high paying one)

Youve really responded to the situation like a pro -- with humor and aplomb.

Like i said in my earlier post... i don't think you have haters here at steemit, I think youre a popular guy that made a bad post and got called on it..... I think that a guy as well known as you getting a bad post flagged down is a case-in-point proof that the system works (or at least a caseinpoint proof that it can)

  ·  8 years ago (edited)

hahahahahahaha

"Born in Canada,
flag... (just kidding)"

I just followed you because you said that

@dollarvigilante I'm here because of you. I am so thankful I didn't just keep scrolling on Facebook and stopped to check out what you were babbling on about.

On another note, 300 episodes damn. That's a lot. While I was reading, I thought of a couple people you should have on. I checked and sure enough you already had. Keep up the amazing work!

Another post which will without a doubt make a lot of money. Welcome! I just wished the success could be dispersed to everyone

lost a lot of Steem (thanks @berniesanders)

Maybe you won a lot of Steem because of him(?)
He could flag all your posts.... so I suggest you choose the half full glass...

Just poking fun. :P I still find it funny that a guy named Bernie Sanders absconded with my money and spread the wealth to others.

You should start sending emails to the DNC about it :P

Yeah, we know it's a joke. However, it isn't that he took money from you. The system as it stands can give out a proportion of the pie to all of the users over the course of 24 hours, so a better way of looking at it is that we are all choosing to balance out the daily reward. He instead reduced what proportion of the pie you could eat. The more you eat, the less anyone else can eat. So he did a Bernie Sanders alright, just not in the Robin Hood way and instead more like a Mother Bird feeding all of the fledglings way.

Let's be honest, you must be full by now, right? * wink *

Still not right if you ask me......but lets leave it a long for now.....Turn the page, it was a joke!

  ·  8 years ago (edited)

Okay now I really feel like an ass for bashing you....glad I did my apology before you posted this "proper introduction".

Good job @dollarvigilante

  ·  8 years ago (edited)

If @dollavigilante's comment section was paper we would be out of trees but i do think you need your own blockchain to handle the volume lol

@dollavigilante needs his own rainforest

lol true

Great ReIntroduction , well played my friend.

Why? Because I think Steemit could change EVERYTHING in the social media world.

I 100% Agree and I can almost say that you're not alone. Most if not all users on steemit have a strong belief in it. This is what holds the steemit foundation together, lots and lots of bodies... ok that may have came out wrong.

I'm on board the Steem train and it has just left the station! Who's with me?

Above statement.

Thanks for bringing @barrycooper over to Steemit seems like a great guy.

Ps. You look ready to finally join "A Thousand Clowns" on broadway... outdated reference?

Now, I have to say, damn, this was a good post! I am very impressed with your story and wow, just wow, I loved every second of it! (And I'm only referring to the text here, not the fact that you used my free makeover image). I suppose this was better than a makeup tutorial, so yeah, I'm in. Well done, sir! I think I just donated $100 to you with my upvote since I have not voted once yet today. You are doing like this:

Thanks @stellebelle, glad we are good! In return for your $100 I upvoted your comment for $0.13. Still a smallfry around here, I guess I owe you $99.87. :P

It is well that, steemit becoming a trade where only the most influential people, have the power to bless someone, and it all becomes a infito cycle between you, the fools icendeiam their poles comments, with the intention of winning upvotes whales, is only matter of time before you dry the steemit, and you will be the first to leave.

The last week has been an amazing time and I know that the other folks you attract will make it even more great. I am just thrilled to be part of it all. Thanks again Jeff!! I am sure @BernieSanders will come around.

I think every great man should be allowed to make mistakes - be it Bernie or Jeff - Jeff already got his pants wet back in El Salvador and is one of the few people that speaks Truth to Power in public successfully.

I for one am looking forward to witness how a real life joker is making sure the blocks are sticking together on the chain no matter how strong the storm gets.

He has already proven to be somebody that knows how to handle the surfboard and ride the internet, bitcoin or blockchain wave.

Anarchy is already upon us - the question that still remains to be answered is if it's the capitalists or the communists that walk away with the trophy. Or are we in for something entirely new ;-)

I'm glad the train has left the station and I'm already enjoying the ride ;-)

I'm with all of steemians and I knew that you will take the make-up challenge and post it. What I saw until now is no matter what post you make is going big time and, why is going so big is because You are a big important man. I'm not writing it just to make something from this comment,I want to do it. Everywhere are good and bad people and haters too, so until now that didn't stop you why should stop you now! I like your post. The end!

all I can say is ..FUCK YEAH.. do that SHIT!!

Is that the new Nike slogan or can I use it for a t-shirt?

I GO SOLO
I HIT 'EM LIKE BOLO

Were you rapping about this Bolo?

Now yes, welcome!! I have not read any of his post because it saw very much "circus" to the redededor, I am glad to have read this one and to have known him a bit, you have a new follower.

I didn't enjoy your last post, but this one really made up (maked-up?) for it! THANK YOU for bringing in Luke, James and the others to the platform. This really is going to pick up steam, and you definitely have a big hand in that. Kudos!

Just for the record Jeff had no part whatsoever in bringing me here. I didn't even know he was here until after I signed up. I'm here because I received at least a dozen separate emails from my listeners to tell me about Steemit (including @joeplummer). I have no idea why Jeff is claiming otherwise.

If that is the case, I would say that is problematic. I really hope @dollarvigilante doesn't claim things that aren't true.

oh, thanks.

Thanks for letting that be known. Hopefully, there is a valid response for that. I really hope that users here don't give @dollarvigilante a pass just because he is a celebrity ala Trump. What one says matters, and making claims that are false should be grounds for losing integrity no matter how powerful or influential that person is.

Hey James, I saw your video and the thumbnail for it was from my Anarchast vid, was it not? I also sent you an email on it so I just assumed. If that isn't the case, I apologize. You were the only one I listed who I didn't directly get onto the site... if you'd like I can retract your name from the list above. Just let me know.

@dollarvigilante . First thanks for the up vote and the visit. 2nd, this proves and shows that the down votes you received were premature. I realize that those that did so did in their belief of doing so in the best interest of STEEMIT. They figured that you had received "enough" and that it should be given to others that could use it as well. I agree and disagree. I feel that it is part of the system, and that they judged what you would do prematurely. How does anyone know what Jeff Berwick will do with his new found STEEM POWER. Will he Cash out and run? Or will he stay and a "part of?"
Well your article stated that you were staying. Your UP VOTES means that you are returning "the favor" and most importantly proving the "Down Voters" wrong. Thanks Jeff.
Full $TEEM AHEAD!

This is exactly what we need. A new whale that is not from within the current Steem ecosystem. When current Whale, inc. pushes against him he says you know what I can make Steem better in my own way because of A, B and C. I know the platform is new but we need whales and dolphins with differing views, strengths and perspectives.

@dollarvigilante you are an asset. Give 'em hell.

  ·  8 years ago (edited)

I am grateful to you @dollarvigilante for bringing so much action to steemit along with your passion. You (and some other) like minded people have inspired me on youtube and now here. Thanks for bringing me to steemit.

There are just so many big names which i would love to see come over here. The more people who can leave from beneath the tables of the corporate giants such as google and facebook. The better our world can become.

I understand you are totally into steemit right now. But please... please can we get some other topics coming from you now. It really chaff's me that you all if a sudden don't seem to care about these jublee's and shemitah's any more.

I don't know if you are mates with Gerald celente but if you or someone can get him over. You will be my homeboy.

I liked you before but now it makes even more sense! As a fellow Canadian who can't stand my own Government that is run by a central bank no matter who gets elected! I had also decided life is too short and decided to purchase a 35 foot sailboat and build it up with as much "home comforts" as I can.(still very much ongoing project) Not only for myself but actual more for the comfort of my 5 year girlfriend so that she will come with me to sail the Atlantic to a warmer climate for as long as we want/can.

I am sorry to hear how depressed your partner got at the time but am not surprised how someone with your sense of adventure got passed it and have a full family of your own now! I don't want to babble for long so I just wanted to say great writing with great humour and honesty ! No doubt Steem will grow with great people like yourself promoting it! Best wishes and where is the token cigarette? Cheers

Jeff You Good!!!!

hup,hup , hup
both of you

@dollarvigilante This is SO much better than your previous posts. This post is great, I have no constructive criticism to add. Perfect!

Thanks for taking a beating out there and representing us to the world. You're like a prize fighter.

A very well paid prize fighter :D

Thanks for interviewing @larkenrose and @dragonanarchist that's exactly the type of thing we need around here IMHO.

I know you don't need it, but here is my upvote!

Yup, I'm a Steemer Believer - hand made a Steemit jacket to represent!

That's awesome, LOL. good job

And I am working on many more even bigger names. I'm currently trying to convince a friend named Milo, amongst others.

Not the same Milo who was censored by a centralized micro-blogging platform is it? ;)

That could make waves! Twitter Permanently Suspends Milo Yiannopoulos

I love the diversity you have brung to steemit and hope both @berniesanders and everyone sees the value that you are bringing now.

You've changed my opinion for sure!

;)

No flags for 30 mintues! Hold on tight Jeff!

.....and 5 flags! LOL

How's it going Jeff? My name is Kent Frost. I'm a photographer, among other things. I will be following you beginning right now and I look forward to your posts. I am placing yesterday's idiotic fiasco behind me because no point in otherwise. I hope to learn a few things from you, and, if the opportunity every arises, maybe I can return the favor. Glad to see you doing so well here, and here's to the prospect of joining you in similar successes one day.

Okay, wow. Thanks for the proper introduction.
I did some browsing at dollarvigilante.com when I read your first post but never looked more into it.

What an introduction though! Makes my life so boring compared, haha.

I think this part alone is something that I doubt many others have done:

since 12 years old in 1982, I was on my Apple II+ clone computer called a Unitron that I had to build myself with a soldering iron because we were too poor to afford the real deal.

but the rest of it just got better and better. How did you manage to make a movie with Jackie Chan? Did you just run into him randomly?:P

Awesome to have you here!

Wath a storry, you realy have reach long with your work.
Yo are a wery good buiesness mann. I lock forwoard for more from you.

The makup, i stil wait for to see hehe

Now this is a true introduction to the ones who no nothing about you great on ya mate: ) is maple syrup really that good? jkjk welcome back.

The spy vs spy battle!

@dollarvigilante have been following you on youtube for awhile and now here
you may find my weekly report interesting check out my latest here https://steemit.com/steemit/@me-tarzan/the-weekly-steemit-bull-report and be sure to follow so you dont miss a single report

I was interested to see if your reputation was impacted by your recent post.. it has obviously not been effected too greatly by the Whale DownVotes seeing you are a Level 64 and only 18% away from becoming a 65 although... that does mean acquiring 5 quadrillion more in reputation!

More on your reputation here: http://steem.cool/@dollarvigilante ;)

As I said before, steemit is losing market, many people discouraged about not being valued, here is repeating WHAT we see in the world out there, Rich Richer and more poor poor, who are influential have more opportunities here in steemit , there's no use saying it is not, come from demagoguery, that the truth is what I say.

Trailblazer extraordinaire!

I'm with U ;)

Your talk of being seen as crazy is really encouraging.
It reminds me of a lesson I got from this video that I've never forgotten

1 million users in 4 months

That's a hefty promise! And I think you could achieve it if it weren't for one problem which is logging in.

I have lots of friends who tried to set up accounts and have been unable to get passed the password log in. Here is a possible solution. Perhaps as a famous dolphin you can explore the possibilities for this and get the idea into the right hands.

Great re-introduction Dollarvigilante! Good to see you reacting so positive to all the hate :)

Now that's much better than my "I think I Fu&ked up" introduce myself post. In Australia we hav the tall poopy syndrome and man did the Steemit old timers go to town on you with their brush cutters. I created a term on a comment last night. #flagfragged to describe what happened to your post. From Hero to Zero in 35 flags or less.

Yet another good introduction, but please stop bringing up the post that went wrong its in the past

It didn't go wrong, it got down-voted by a whale I don't think he cares I think he sees it as all part of the game

He seems to be doing ok out of it and enjoying the game

it got downvoted by a lot of people, including whales

Yes but his next post showed he took it in good humour which I enjoyed.

hate the habits not the people...I liked your article and it took me a little back in my childhood as well...I myself also did not like to go to school...and it is interesting when you talk about you went from no money to achieve what you have at present...I upvote you on your hardship.

i liked the makeup tutorial in this post more than anything else

#2 rapper in all of Canada in the 90s!

And the rapping wasn't bad either! Coming 2nd to Tom Green, however, should be a source of immense shame.

Tom Green is still a great rapper! Check this out!

@dollarvigilante If you want to try to relive the dream of sailing around the world. A friend of mine (another Canadian) is about to try to sail non-stop around the world. He is leaving on Sunday from Halifax. You will be able to watch the journey at this website. http://sailor.life/

No thanks, once was enough. :P

You truly are a renaissance man, Jeff! Your story is fascinating. What was it like working with Jackie Chan?

@stellabelle might be a little upset you didn't actually put makeup on, but this post may encourage her to come around.

I actually did. But I used Snapchat... maybe cheating a bit. Not sure why she challenged me to do a make-up tutorial, that's her job. That'd be like me challenging her to write a 50 page document on stocks, finance and economics to my subscribers. :P

She challenged you because a few weeks ago we had @guerrint do This makeup tutorial post which garnered a lot of money. It inspired a lot of people to try to do clone make-up tutorials to get money. She knew her stuff and did a good job. Then the down vote brigades began and she and other early posters that were popular were hammered kind of like you were. They don't post much anymore.

There were so many people involved in cloning for a week or so that @roelandp was inspired to do First Male Make-up tutorial which is hillarious. He is one of the coders of some of the early steemtools and I believe steemtools.com is actually his site as well.

So @stellabelle was being nostalgic and requesting you participate. :)

The call out for the makeup tutorial was to show humility. I think it would have been the wrong move for @dollarvigilante - instead he gave a more down to earth introduction, but included the makeup picture.

A much smarter move, he'll do more for user growth and market cap than anyone else to date. That's what it's about right?.. increasing the pie

Yes, I knew it was a call out for humility, yet there was a back story to it as well and @dollarvigilante was not here during the relevant weeks in history of steemit. I simply shared so he'd have some historical context.

I am fine with how he did things. I also was not concerned about whether he humble himself or not. I do know why @stellabelle suggested it. There were people flagging likely due to perceived conceit/arrogance.

I agree with you though. This is more tasteful than emulating someone else. The fact he even did it on snapchat is pretty humbling. :)

@dwinblood, you're leaving out my own Hacker Makeup Tutorial! Mine scared the crap out of people, remember? And actually most that you mention are still active posters. @roelandp set the satire/absurdity tone a notch higher, like into outer space and I credit him with influencing me to make my own satire videos like My Account Was Hacked Makeup Tutorial

ahhh, ok, now it makes more sense!

  ·  8 years ago (edited)

It is one of those things, that "you had to be there to understand". But I was doing it out of an interest to bring you into the historical perspective of Steemit, which you were free to investigate on your own. I am glad that people informed you. If you knew anything about me, you would realize, after watching my own, that I have little to do with real makeup tutorials. I believe my video is the only one in existence on the topic of mixing my account being hacked with a makeup tutorial. I did my own clone one after @roelandp because I was so inspired by the absurditiy. I might scare you, but here's mine:

They don't post much anymore.

That's not true.

There were so many people involved in cloning for a week or so that @roelandp was inspired to do First Male Make-up tutorial which is hillarious.

That makes it sound like he did the video after all the clones when he in fact was the 2nd make-up video in general, if I recall correctly.

I don't know if it was actually the second. There were a ton of make up tutorials in new that I saw. Though they didn't trend. His is very different and totally worth watching.

As to it not being true... @guerrint has not posted much. Another person that posted a lot back then was @heiditravels (though not makeup related) and she doesn't appear to post very much either. As to @roelandp he posts on a diverse amount of things but I don't recall him getting hammered by the waves of down votes. The down votes were not enough to really stop them from making money but I do know they were noticed.

EDIT: I will concede that Don't Post much is subjective. @heiditravels went from posting daily to not nearly that much. Though it could be for other reasons, like perhaps not being somewhere she thought was worth posting about. @guerrint had almost immediate stardom, and posted another video that was slammed, and she went a couple weeks without posting anything. Though it could be for other reasons.

EDIT 2: You inspired me to research. I can see you were concerned with her lack of posting too, but unlike me you didn't assume... you asked. ;) Good job.

Yeah that was going to be my reply that you were maybe assuming a bit too many things at once. But decided not to reply since the tree ended and I am lazy. :P

Heheh.... I am human. I do make assumptions (and you know what they say about that) and sometimes a victim to an over active imagination leading to speculation. Plus, I've unleashed a portion of my active imagination I've had caged away for a few decades (aka @chaospoet ) which can sometime bleed over into my serious side and introduce some bad habits. I appreciate people like you keeping me sane and calling me out when I go out of bounds. ;)

It helps if you are drunk when you do it!

👍it's really good 😆

That GIF is awesome!!!!

EDIT: Makes me nostalgic for old Monty Python.

THAT'S IT. Anarchapulco 2017 DRAG SHOW! I wanna see all you voluntaryists celebs strut your stuff onstage!

yes.

I could do it, too. I'm a ghostwriter. The male makeup tutorial was a reference that you were not around for in early days of Steemit. Roelandp did the first male makeup tutorial after @guerrint raked in $15,000 for her makeup tutorial, which was the first one ever to appear on Steemit. You see, in the early days, like when I joined (2+ months ago), Steemit was a sausage party. I guess it's the historical aspect that needs a little explaining.

I couldn't answer you up above (or maybe below now) due to the nesting limit.
Sorry about that. Yeah I remember yours. I actually watched A LOT of makeup tutorials just to give people the benefit of decent curation. I'm a guy so most of it flew over my head, and I know far more about makeup than I ever wanted to. I would have been content to look like the guys from Kiss back in 1976 when I was 6. :)

But if they knew their stuff and put on a good production I tended to up vote it. :)

I didn't think yours was bad. I thought it was pretty funny.

There were SO many of them. @guerrint hit with that one and all these guys seemed to be convincing their significant others (or maybe someone they hired for the role) to make the next make up tutorial so they could get rich. @roelandp's was so left field and SO well done... I laughed my ass off watching him.

I've noticed the trending page is about as predictable as weather. One week it is all makeup and travel, then it is all crypto currency, etc. This is not a bad thing unless you happen to be a clone, which neither you nor I are. :)

Fantastic choice in colours.

Yes, I put a "u" in colour.

You should challenge her to do that! I bet it would be hilarious!!

damn, this is better than I had imagined!

@dollarvigilante oh wait, I did' scroll down far enough the first time until I ran into you 2nd stylish photo, you are really making my day. Maybe you can start up a makeup tutorial channel or something. Have a nice day. ☀️🌴

Just... damn!

glad to read the real live story, how a person with deep experience on stocks, finance and economic joining into cryptocurrency world and make a living from its

A nice re-introduction.

Cool make up.

I do like the new look I'm hoping you can do the next podcast with the make up on!

Good luck with Tone Vays probably best if he is only on Skype because you may feel like strangling him (joking). You will never convince him that it isn't a Ponzi because he has a religious zeal about bitcoin that forbids him from considering anything else.

amen brother/sister!

I am on board and strapped in! YeeHaa!

I liked you before, I like you even more after reading the story of your life. You are also a very good writer, by the way.

Now that's a significantly sexier intro post

Thanks. Wow, I like hearing success stories that have up and down moments:

I went into $200,000 of credit card debt to build the company, at one point making my bank manager (who I used to work for) think I had a drug problem.

That's funny and makes me feel better - like I can overcome the debt I've incurred with my companies. People forget how much successful entrepreneurs have risked in their lives... the nights they sit there staring at the stars wondering what is going on. But then they pick themselves up because there's a new day coming.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Ok :))))

Dude. You're a rockstar all the way around. Your humanitarian work is unmatched. I'm one of your biggest fans. And love the makeover! Peace.

I liked your reintroduction, such hyping skills will be useful for steemit.
I'm eager to see where this will go.
Also, I was following falkvinge since his first day if I'm not wrong.

@stellabelle actually wanted a tutorial of you putting on makeup while on video. I guess this will do in the meantime. Its great you used her picture. Good re-introduction by the way!

In a post above he has one where he put makeup on. :P

Just started posting this week. The
Steemit community is next level for sure. How we individually transform is how we collectively transform. My posts are meant to share my own journey from awake to hyper-awake, actively transforming my micro-vista to macro-activism. The revolution starts within. Thanks for your humor and insight.

Classic Berwick!

Quite the roller coaster!

that moment when you've been taking berwicks advice since 2012 and finally see more people catching on

We shall call this your RuPaul post. What shade lipstick is that anyway?

It's called God No, Never Again.

So glad you're here and your contribution is huge, the drama hilarious and my steem for you worth it! Thanks for bringing some big alternative news contributors to the fold also. Awesome! Get the whole PMetals community blogging on here please!

Wow!
Go right ahead!
Enthusiasm is contagious!
Good post !

My man Jeff Berwick wins the Internet today. And not because of the pic. But the pic was awesome, too.

Badass reintroduce yourself @dollarvigilante. Whoever complains about this posts earnings better have exposed steemit to 1/2 a million people. Just sayin.

When I was a wee lad my school went on a theatrical outing to a play starring Sir Ralph Richardson. He got a standing ovation just for walking on. That’s what I thought of when you debuted on STEEMIT. He hadn’t done anything yet but based on his body of work people were just pleased he’d turned up – Sir Raphie in da house!

Milking it... 'til the last drop !
Upvoted. You own steemit.

nice post

Now that was an interesting read! Great post and by far my favourite of yours. UPVOTED and followed!

Im always in when it comes to you Jeff. Thanks for taking the beatings and stay strong. Also don't forgot to research and talk more about #Bitshares. We need to reform the financial markets the way Steemit will disrupt social media. I believe it can if it gets the traction it needs.

Milo on Steemit would be hilarious! Or should I say fabulous? :D

A post that's worth some reward, finally! Life writes best stories, right Jeff?

He is, the most interesting man in the world. Stay thirsty my friends.

3 flags on this one? Really?

Probably when they saw your Snapchat picture...

Don't take it personally. It's only 3!

There is no separate downvote button, so users have to use the FLAG in lieu of thumbs down. A lot of users see your post so you can't expect all of them to like what you do. Look at YouTube vids to see how many thumbs downs people get. You can't please 100% of the people, right?

Also similar to YouTube there is the possibility of someone accidentally, unknowingly or ignorantly clicking the flag / thumbs down when they don't mean to.

You're still new here, you'll get the hang of everything soon enough!

Well, now THAT'S what I'd call a proper introduction! ;)

"And then, on August 4th of this year (my first week anniversary!) I discovered Steem and Steemit!"

Oh ya, someone told me to join that group (or added me, I forget), I didn't even know what it was until I first posted here.

To be fair, I was added to several steemit groups, I was already a frequent contributor here so I just started posting there. So thanks to all that have invited me.

What I wanna say is that you can be added to a group without even visiting the website, you know?

Ok can i hear more about cryptocurrency now? We want to read the posts you tell us are coming, not hear your life story 4 times. No offense, but we know who you are now

This is a MUCH better approach, but real makeup would have been 10x better!

Thanks for being the good sport and taking the time to do a really thorough reintroduction post.

Beats the shit out of Marc Suckadick. Full steem ahead bitches!!!

Hi @dollarvigilante, Once again another great post Jeff ! Personally I have been an anarchist for probably 54 of my 55 years ... I started reading Heinlein at about 10 and stumbled upon Orwell's 1984 at 14 and it changed my life forever. I then understood why I was seeing and feeling the things I saw that others didn't seem to see or understand what I did about our society. For the most part of my life I have been trying to wake people up and it got to the point of literally feeling as if I were talking to sheep. I made the comment 20 years ago that the sheep were breeding with the Lemmings and I almost gave up trying because people for the most part had "drank the cool aid" as we used to say, and were just not at all receptive to waking up. Then came the Matrix ! YEA !!! OMG Even the really simple minded could understand the Blue/Red pill concept ... Thank you thank you NEO !! THEN ! along comes Jeff Berwick (Bitchin Bob Bitchin !) ... I have read pretty much everything he has written and everything written about him over the years, and seen every video of/about/with him that I could find on the interwebs .. and trust me, there is a LOT !!! See ... He is Neo (Neo = New) a lot of us old timers gave up ... but its a new world and the ability to communicate 24/7 basically for free is unbelievable, Jeff is gathering all of us up and getting us to start sharing ideas again, we that have become hoarse from so many years of speaking to deaf ears, he is our voice because HE BELIEVES the SAME as we do and have for so many years but are not as articulate as he is.

In conclusion, I must say first and foremost, I am NOT a writer, so if you want to pick apart my writing, have fun w/ that ... Secondly, I am NOT a Jeff Berwick "fanboy" or w/e .. What most people don't understand ... If you completely omit or remove the name (J.B.) from all of the vids, post, letters, podcast, etc. and LOOK and LISTEN to the people he is/has interacted with all these years ... omg, these people .. are setting MOST of you free and you don't even know about them. The list is unbelievable and the work they have been doing for YEARS is unbelievable ... THESE people are changing the world ... and OMG LMAO, you SHEEPLE wanna bash Jeff for organising a revolution that is changing your world and OFFERING YOU the "RED PILL" !!

Again @dollarvigilante ... thanks Bro, with all my heart ... "F R E E D O M !!!!"

"You wanna know the truth, YOU can't handle the truth!"
Read More, Reason More... JTS

The 12 year old in me is jealous that you met Jackie Chan.

@dollarvigilante Oh my god, you new photo is hilarious, brings you into a new light. Thank you for spilling more beans about your beginnings, just love it. Glad you didn't give up. Looking forward to more informative currency and collapse posts from you, with or without your face paint. 😂👍🏼

Oh my it would be great to have Milo on here. I am also looking forward to the debates with Tone Vays who thinks Steemit is a scam. Because, to be honest, I don't get where the money comes from. When I pay out steem for dollars, who pays me for the steem dollars? And why would they if 80% is already mined by the owners?

WOW, what a great story -- and much more appreciated (by me) than your initial post :) Keeping it real is what it's all about. With every success lies a string of disappointment and failure. It's what we do when we hit bottom that makes us who we are. Thank you for sharing.

lol ... more trolazo impossible!

We need STEEM VIGILANTE here.

So poor Jeff, born in a log cabin with just a soldering iron and a broken radio; Now he's a trans-gender clown. woo hah!

Hey @dollarvigilante!!! GET @Nero on Steemit please!!!

BTW, I can't wait for Anarchapulco! It'll be....
LEGENDARY!

Hopefully this will keep the internet thugs at bay. Great post.

I am with you Bro. Aber sowas von!!

very cool

Yes ok thank you. Now we are ALL awaiting the value you will bring for sure. You promised to post "exclusive material" on Steemit, so PLEASE no more posts on these trivial matters "he said this and she said that".

Just post things you normally post in your mail plus a bit extra.
I'd LOVE to hear more about the coming black swan event.
According to remote viewers, there's going to be a massive attack on a large building, totally destroying it. That might be the starting point for the next big economic event.

This is a question I have about what to post on Steemit. Should I also be posting my writings that I post at DollarVigilante.com here too?

The only reason NOT to, is that you risk losing paying customer. "why should I pay a monthly fee, when I can get it all for free on Steemit?". Well... from YOUR perspective, you get paid in any case, right? Either 'normal' currency through the monthly fee, OR through Steemitdollars.

Granted, on Steemit it's not certain that you will receive money for something that you post. But on the other hand, that will ensure that your content is gold ;)
I'm guessing a lot of people paying you money every month sometimes have thought the thought "WTF am I paying for this fucking bullshit for?".
But other times they are ofcourse ellated and praise your expertise.

Basicly what you have is a 'basic income' that doesn't guarantee gold content, but still keeps the general follower content enough to stay.

Many people who advertise steemit says "post your blogs like you usually do, but on steemit instead". These people ofcourse don't have a paying followers group like you, so there's a difference.

BUT, to conclude; Who gives a fuck? I mean honestly, it's just money. Besides, your paid service gives the subscriber much more than just the information. They get the community, the FB exclusive group, the free books, the community help to start trading on Bitcoin, Ed Bugos and all that fluff.

My advice; go for it. And I'll upvote you every time :)

Haa Haa !

Very very glad you are here. Bring more people, keep up the good work.

Also I started coding in 1982 on a Timex Sinclair 1000 with 2K RAM... that I eventually upgraded to 16K, and then went Commodore 64 route and anything else I could get my hands on. I can relate.

You didn't answer last time I wrote, and you might not this time because I suspect you get asked a lot of questions. I went and googled it so you don't really have to answer. I remember seeing stuff on Galt's Gulch and I was a fan of the idea there too, and am sad it didn't work out. Great choice for a name that was. We need to get Ben Swann on here too if you still have contact with him. I am pretty sure he was on Galt's Gulch. I sent a message to him and other people weeks ago, but I'm just a voice shouting from the masses... you've got a megaphone... thank you for using it.

I'm with you @dollarvigilante! I felll in love with the channel ever since discovering it (after you came on board). I think your approach is excellent, I'm even thinking of subscribing to the dollarvigilante - unless you're bringing it on Steemit after considering it would be better to be off-subscription! :D

You're doing it right!

You are an upstanding individual. I am glad to have made your acquaintance. A lot of people have made a lot of money bashing you. They should be grateful you are here and so magnanimous.
