Open Letter #1: To A Husband On Board

Distance is just a to see how far love can travel. -'Miz-pa 

Days without you is getting longer each day.You are almost coming home, but as the days of your return closer it makes it even harder. Just the thought of anticipating each day gives me that punishing feeling. 

1,111 days apart, everyday I'd of think of you. I know you feel the same way. Distance between us keeps my heart weak. But moments with you are what I treasure always.

You have stayed with me despite the struggles we had.. 

You were my strength and most definitely my weakness. You are my greatest happiness and my worst pain.

The first time I saw you I knew it would be you, long before you came I prayed, I prayed that one day God would give me such a man who will never leave me whatever happens and love me without condition. You made my world stop, everything was all blurry except you. You approached me with that big smile, and spoke softly in Tagalog. You captured my heart in a second. I was standing there mesmerized by you, I was working at a network company entertaining costumer but I was all eyes on you. You came back to me and asked for my name, should I say no to this handsome man,i had random thoughts while staring at you. Looking at your bright eyes made me want to melt in an instant. And yes you got me giving my name and phone number.

I know until now you'd tease me how in love I was with you. I'd feel shy whenever you'd mention that, but you loved teasing me and always feel proud of being loved by me.

April 18, 2007 marks the day I said yes. You never missed a month remembering. Youd give me simple stuff and effort so much to come and see me.  I loved you for your effort,you've  always been romantic. You'd surprise me and takes time to visit me even at your hectic schedule. You were having your apprenticeship and I was having my practice teaching but we made it possible. You'd sneak out from work just to be with me. I lied so many times to Nanay just to spend time with you. Eating street food or just a walk in the park was all enough for us. Coz being with you was important.

Even before we had been struggling with a long distance relationship. You went home to Manila after a year of completing your apprenticeship with a promise to come back after a year. We had our ups and downs. Not being with you breaks my heart everyday. We'd break up but you'd still come to me and beg for me to take you.

April 18, 2009 you came back to me with a surprise. It was our 2nd anniversary, I was all up the night before coz you said you saved money to come to Cebu. But on the day I expected you to arrive you called and said it was all a lie. I clearly remember I was on the street that day walking on my way home from that sari-sari store. Tears rolled in my eyes, head down and questioning myself, Why did you believe such promise? Was is worth to wait for him? Thousands of questions were in my mind, but even before I arrived my house a tricycle suddenly stopped by in front of me even almost hit me. I was furious, why would this driver do that, I looked up and this man go down. I know it was you, I stared at you hoping that my instinct was right. And there is that smile, I punched you and cried. You just didn't know how it felt to wait for someone but you were there looking as handsome as I saw you the first time. That day you knelt in front of me and asked my hand. We were both 20 years old, but that moment the only certain thing in my mind was I love You. And I said yes.

PA I can never forget the time we had everyday, I always pray that you are safe. I can never count the times I miss you. Come back home soon so I could hug you tight and kiss you endlessly. We both have been patiently waiting for that moment but sacrifices are made to make our dreams come true.
