My Journey from Rituals to Realisation

To transcendence to be more than your identity attachments and labels weather that is race, religion, country, family or the limitations of the language you use to communicate. Once all these constructed barriers are removed you free yourself from self identification and are ready to move to higher frequencies and greater opportunities to be. To be what you may ask? The answer, “to just be”.

Contentment is, accepting the truth of uncertainty; embrace and be wise enough to know we all contradict ourselves because our circumstances and knowledge develops and evolves with time and therefore with new understanding comes a new certainty and new truth. You are not a Hypocrite to change your view on topics of faith and religion.

Truth is Uncertainty. Uncertainty is truth. Everything claiming to be certain truth on matters of religion is an illusion; delusive; transitory; while counter intuitively being simple and complex at the same time. Usually fitting the narrative of the narrator. Postulating Statements to be true yet not really knowing for sure. But subconscious bias lurks in the narration. So the best and more important thing is to understand the spiritual lessons and glean strength, love and compassion from religious writings.

Having looked at many religions I have come to realise that all religions are asking the same questions and lead to the same conclusions if somewhat on a different path and framed in differing languages. Some of the religious writings and rituals are allegorical. Others are literal that recalls historical occurrences. Certainty of facts is a false claim on all religious belief, yet all religions are true. However that would lead to the idea that truth is a uncertain concept. This dichotomy is resolved once you have the wisdom to accept that religions are allegorical, poetic and constrained by the language of its time; religion can be factually false or ambiguous but spiritual and metaphysically true; transcendent.

As such it is unsettling to debate about any religious texts on any level but it’s spiritual content and not its historical or cultural significance and accuracy .

As a example of Religious Allegory

The most universally agreed idea amongst all religion traditions is the idea of pilgrimage ( every religion in the world has this pilgrimage concept).

The idea is that you take a special journey to a special place to codify your belief, by participating in rituals, to a deity higher and greater than us. It is impossible for me to list all the pilgrimages of the world and I would not like to remove the happy feeling of elation, affirmation and spiritual strength and comfort that these physical journeys give the pilgrims. However I don’t think that the pilgrimage starts and ends with a single journey by either walking, taking a plane, train or automobile to a specified destination written in your chosen religious text. My view is, Pilgrimage is a allegorical metaphorical lesson to its students (or followers of that religion).

My understanding of all pilgrimage is much more abstract allegorical that has a much deeper message. The broader concept,(My innate sense of believing)is the true pilgrimage is your life’s journey through time and experience of your material self; gaining awareness of knowledge, love and wisdom, as the attributes that build over the passage of time whatever beliefs you have or religions denomination you may or may not be connected to. It aims to carry people to a peaceful and true understanding of the rituals that help nurture our understanding in the higher consciousness that is the beautiful belief in God/Jehovah/Allah/Brahma/Shiva/Ishtar/Ram/Krishna or whatever your chosen spiritual/religious path names our creator. Pilgrimage is life’s journey of gaining spiritual, scientific, emotional and compassionate knowledge and is the worshippers true pilgrimage; yes it might be a journey that involves going to special places of peace and religiosity that Ultimately leads to the pilgrims deeper understanding and connection of the one god that is in every particle and every where. But the journey to that special physical place is the least important aspect of pilgrimage. It is the reward for moving towards God (enlightenment, salvation, the straight path, peace, coherence ) . But we should earn that reward not take it as a right that we are owed. To the pious ascetic, all religions are true and any enlightened person knows all religions are true and will never question another’s religion but respect the fact that we are all on a spiritual pilgrimage until the day we die. Some will believe in God in differing ways, some in science others will believe in not to believe but in the end that is even a belief to be respected. We are all on different paths with the aim of reaching peace. We do not all reach this destination.

Once we die all that is left is our true self reconnecting with the great consciousness that we attribute different dialectic names to; such as, God, Brahma, Allah, Bhagwan and hundreds if not thousands of other dialectical names. Just like, Sun, Surya, or Shams, Son or slŭntse, Tàiyáng or ílios and el sol are Different dialectical names for the one Sun in earths sky.

In conclusion I would advise anyone to look at all religious books as a foundation book in the understanding of your true nature and not worthy of intellectual debate only spiritual insight. And just like any foundation book once you move on to the advance level you would be ill advised to keep on referencing the foundation book for fear of never advancing your mind. A PhD mathematics student will never continually refer to a basic arithmetic level book. However the foundation is so important in bearing the strength to take us forward. Just as the foundation of a building, although unseen it bears the weight of the entire building carrying out an important function.

Move on from the book and seek the God in you and in the beautiful mornings sunrise and the evening sunset or the smile in a child’s face or the wonderful flowers that blessed your eyes and waft fragrance smells to your nose. See God in the life you lead. It’s as simple as it sounds as long as you are able to communicate to your true self inside of you. you are the creator and the created.

Remove all the labels from you, even your name was given to you. Remove all these constructed identities only Then you will start your Journey from rituals to Realisation of your true self.
