The mysteries of the Bible

in religion •  7 years ago

Bible! Is there any object, place or person in human knowledge that can be debated, accused, and stories more than the Bible? Certainly few things in human culture can equal the Scriptures when it comes to history, legends, and controversy. The Bible is a source of knowledge, it is the cornerstone of Christianity and the book of over one billion believers all over the world. But at the same time, his translations from Hebrew, Aramaic and Old Greek, encoded language, missing passages, and the mysterious way in which he is written, surround a mysterious set of divine topics and episodes. Ten of these are distinguished by the mystification of the woven around them.

  1. GRAAL SANCTUARY
The mystery: Where is the Holy Grail?

According to Christian mythology, the Holy Grail was the amphora, bowl or cup used by Jesus at the Last Supper, a container that is said to possess miraculous powers. There is a legend that speaks of Joseph of Arimathea, a close friend of Jesus and the one who buried his lifeless body, the one who came into possession of the Grail after the appearance of the Savior even handed it to him. Joseph would have taken the pot and would have asked his apostles to transport it to Britain. Belief in the Grail and interest in the possible places where they might be, have never fallen. It has been supposed, over time, that he is in the possession of several groups. Most suspicions in this sense awakened the Knights Templar, probably because they were at the height of their influence when the stories about the Graal began to circulate.

10.jpg

There are, in some churches, cups that are suspected of being the Grail. One such example is the Cathedral of St. Mary of Valencia, whose Saint Potir is believed to have been transported by Saint Peter to Rome in the first century, and then to Huesca, Spain, by Saint Laurentiu in the third century. The chalice of Valencia has some characteristics for which it would qualify as true Graal, its origins being approximated between the 4th century BC. and sec. I Ch., somewhere in the Middle East. Other stories support the idea that the Grail would have buried under the Roslin Chapel or be buried deep in the cellars of St. Michael's Tower on Glastonbury Hill, UK. At the same time, some sources advance the idea that secret members of an occult blood line protect the Grail. However, perhaps the most gruesome suspicion surrounding this idea, born from the Latin form of the term "San Graal" - "Sang real," meaning "royal blood", is intended to have possible followers of Jesus Christ, the offspring of which he would even mention some of the apocryphal scriptures (scriptures written at the same time or even earlier than biblical ones, but not in the Bible). But it remains, up to eloquent evidence, just a snarl of impact by a contemporary best-seller.

  1. THE LEGEND OF THE LEGUMENT
The Mystery: Where is the Ark of the Covenant?

The Ark of the Law, as it is called the artifact mentioned in the Exodus chapter of the Bible, is the most important treasure of the "People's Choice". For the Israelites, it was the most sacred object on Earth, created by God Himself, through Moses on Mount Sinai. The ark was a massive, gold-lined, 118-centimeter long, 78 centimeter wide, with a pair of wooden handles on one side and the other, and two cherubs of gold arranged face to face with wide wings, above the lid. The trunk had to shelter the sacred relics, including the two stone tablets on which the Ten Commandments were written, and a heavenly hand-craft which had fallen for the food of the Jews in the wilderness after the Red Sea when they were released from the slavery of Egypt . Jerusalem, the capital of the Israeli kingdom, and the house of Solomon's Temple, was also the place where the Ark of the Covenant was hosted.

09.jpg

In 607 BC the city was robbed by the Babylonians, with hundreds of thousands of Jews being killed. 70 years later, when the Israelites returned to the city, the Ark had disappeared. Since then, it is unclear what has happened to this priceless relic, and the various rumors have been fed only by speculation. Among these, the most widespread is that the Ark would have been hidden by the Israelites before escaping the city, along with the occupation of the Babylonians. Possible locations are said to be Mount Nebo in Egypt or Ethiopia. The question is, however, whether the ark had been hidden by the Israelites, why did they not recover it when they returned to rebuild their city? Despite the lack of historical evidence, the Ethiopian faith in the Aksum Ark continued to be strong . According to the legend, in the huge burial site of the kings of Aksum was hidden the Ark of the Law, the treasure of Israel's most precious treasure. Old, over 1,700 years old and 24 meters tall, the Aksum Obelisk, which is supposed to be the Ark, weighs no less than 100 tons. The mystery of the absolutely incredible lifting of the obelisk has made many to launch some sort of theories, which more fantasmagoric. However, even today, the archaeologists could not fully explore the underground labyrinth beneath the granite colossus. Besides, scientists of today have failed to explain why the underground labyrinth is so cruelly guarded by deadly traps for anyone trying to explore the tunnels. Some believe that the ark was destroyed by the Babylonians, while the beliefs of others are that God himself hid the ark through a divine intervention and that the artifact would only be found by the righteous. Since there is no mention of its destruction, people have not ceased today to seek and try to unleash the great mystery.

  1. SODOMA SI GOMORA
Mystery: Were real cities? And if so, where were they?

For the sins and moral dirt of their inhabitants, Sodom, Gomorrah, Adma and Zeboim were destroyed by "fire and brimstone coming from God from heaven" (Genesis 19: 24-25). In Christianity and in Islam, the names of the two cities became synonymous with total, impartial sin, and their fall is confused with the proverbial manifestation of the Lord's mood. However, the historical existence of Sodom and Gomorrah is still a subject of debate among archeologists. The Bible indicates their location somewhere near the Dead Sea. Possible candidates become, in this situation, the sites discovered or visited by archeologists Walter E. Rast and R Thomas Schaub in 1973, including Bab edh-Dhra, excavated in 1965 by archaeologist Paul Lapp.

08.jpg

Other possibilities include the namesira, es-safi, feifeh and khanazir regions, which were also visited by Schaub and Rast. All of these sites are near the Dead Sea, show signs of burns and sulfur on many of the stones, and are, apparently, characterized by a sudden cease of popularity towards the end of the Early Bronze Age. To the south of the Dead Sea is a mountain known as Mount Sodom. The location of the five cities that are said to have been destroyed with Sodom and Gomorrah was established by mapping satellites by identifying geometric shapes, especially rectangular. The walls of the cities discovered in these places and their houses have substantial dimensions, indicating that people of great stature have once inhabited these places. Even the traces of a ziggurat (pyramid in stairs) were found along with similar shapes like the form of the Sphinx in Egypt was in the region. There have been found hundreds of sulfur formations, stones composed of pure sulfur powder. Subject to the test of the largest volcanologists, it has been confirmed that nowhere else in the world, even around active volcanoes, no stones of such composition have been found.

  1. THE GARDEN OF EDEN
Mystery: Where was the Garden of Eden?

While most "biblical" theologians and initiates believe that the passage that tells about the Garden of Eden is most likely symbolic, others believe that the place really existed right here on Earth. Moreover, the Bible would provide some clear clues with reference to its exact location. This conviction has led to many attempts to locate the Garden. The Genesis story tells the geographic location of Eden, the garden of the four biblical rivers (Pison, Gihon, Tiger and Euphrates) and the three biblical regions (Havila, Asiria and Kush).

07.jpg

There are hypotheses that indicate the position of Eden either in the Tiger and Euphrates river springs, north of Mesopotamia, either in Iraq, in Africa, or in the Persian Gulf. While the true location remains a mystery, there is a fascinating detail of the story: Ethiopia is referred to as being near or enclosing the Garden of Eden in Genesis 2:13 ("And the name of the second evil is Gehon, the same who has tarried the realm Ethiopia "). Since 1974, paleontologists have excavated six million years of life and concluded that Ethiopia can be declared the scientific location of human origins, a true Garden of Eden from the perspective of Science.

  1. BIBLE CODES
The Mystery: The Bible seems to contain incited messages; is it a coincidence?

"And you, Daniela, keep the words hidden and seal the book to the end of the world," Daniel 12: 4. The research of some scientists has confirmed in recent years a hypothesis that the Bible contained, besides obvious spiritual guidance, a certain secret code that can reveal events that occurred and will take place thousands of years after writing Bible. The biblical code was found in the Old Testament in the original Bible version, written in Hebrew. The author of this discovery is Dr. Eliyahu Rips, one of the world's largest experts in group theory, based on quantum physics. Rips' discovery was confirmed by renowned mathematicians at Harvard, Yale and the Hebrew University. On September 1, 1994, Israeli Prime Minister Ytzhak Rabin was warned by a letter from a Jewish mathematician that his name was decoded from the text of the Bible along with the phrase "the killer will assassinate." The message was ignored. On November 4, 1995, Rabin was killed with a bullet in the back by an individual believed to have invested with a divine mission. Is this an assassination encoded in the Bible more than 2000 years ago?

06.jpg

Following the event, a whole series of other explicitly deciphered episodes from the Bible have come true. Rips Bible Theory theory considers the Bible as a gigantic crossword grid. To find the code, Rips removed all the spaces between words and turned the entire original Bible into a continuous string of letters, comprising 304,805 characters. The information is obtained by selecting each N-letter, where N has a precise and appropriately chosen value. A simple example would be the following: We have the sentence "How to get data", which we compact and it becomes "cumsaobtiidate", from which we select, starting with the first every fifth letter - "CumsaObtiiDate" and result the word "code "With the help of a computer, in this matrix of the biblical text brought in the above-described form, words and phrases hidden from the intervals are searched, starting from the first letter of the Bible and looking for each sequence of possible intervals the words required, deciphered with intervals of one, two, three letters, etc. up to a few thousand. Then repeat the same search from the second letter and continue to the last letter of the Bible.

  1. LOST TRIPS
Mystery: What happened to the Ten Missing Tribes of Israel?

Since the Assyrians have exiled the lost tribes of Israel in the 8th century BC, the mystery of the continuation of their life at that time deepened in time without ever being elucidated. Where did they go? Are the statements of contemporary groups claiming to descend directly from Missing Tribes legitimate? More than 2,700 years ago, Assyrians exiled the ten tribes of the Kingdom of Israel. In the years 722-721 BC, the Ten Tribes that comprised the northern Kingdom of Israel have disappeared. Conquered by Assyrian king Shalmaneser V, they were exiled to Upper Mesopotamia and to Medes, Syria and Iraq today. The Ten Tribes have not been seen since. Or is not that right? Jacob, the son of Patriarch Abraham, was renamed Israel when God revealed Himself as he left Padn-Aram and blessed him. Jacob had 12 sons, each of whom became the father of one of the twelve tribes of Israel: Reuven, Shimon, Levi, Yehuda, Issachar, Zevulun, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Joseph, Benjamin.

05.jpg

In the Land of Canaan, each of the 12 Israeli tribes founded a different region on both sides of the Jordan River. After a longer period, a monarchy was established, but with the death of King Solomon, the state was divided into two. The tribes split up on political and territorial lines, with Judah and Benjamin in the south, loyal to the Davidiene house, and the rest of the tribes in the north, led by a monarchical succession. Southern tribes constitute the historical roots of most Jews as they are known today. And the Ten Tribes of the Northern Kingdom? They seem to have been eliminated for eternity. But the prophet Ezekiel dreamed of a different future: "I will take the sons of Israel, and I will gather them and bring them to their land, and they shall not be divided into two kingdoms." Over centuries and continents, the prophetic words set in the souls of the Jews the idea that those in the same tribe would be brought together and rebuild the kingdom of the Lord. But first, the Ten Missing Tribes must be found. There are some sources attesting that the descendants of these tribes would have been found in Persia and on the Arabian peninsula by Benjamin of Tudela, the son of Jonah, who in 1165 engaged in a periply world, visiting predominantly the Jewish communities. However, only assumptions remain.

  1. EXOOD FARAN
The Mystery: Who Was the Exodus Pharaoh?

It is clear that this attribute belongs to the pharaoh who ruled Ancient Egypt when Moses separated the waters of the Red Sea and led his people to freedom in what was known as the Exodus. But who was this pharaoh, given that this episode of the Bible is not given a concrete identity? Logically, it seems relatively easy to deduce, making a parallel between the time of the Exodus and the pharaoh of Egypt at that time. Exodus also raises disputes over the exact date of the biblical event. The researchers concluded, deciphering the chronological framing suggested in King 6: 1, that the Scriptures would advance the year 1445 BC. as the year of the Exodus. If the information is correct, it happened in the third year of the reign of Pharaoh Amenhotep II.

04.jpg

However, according to some additional information in the Old Testament, it appears that Amenhotep's predecessor, Thutmose III, would be the only pharaoh of the chronological range specified in King 6: 1 that would have been mastered enough (54 years) to be on the throne at the time of Moses' departure and die shortly after his return to Egypt. This would mean Thutmose III to be the Pharaoh of Opression, and Amenhotep II to the Exodus Pharaoh. The most common picture imagined in popular culture is that of Ramses the Great, as the pharaoh mentioned in the Old Testament, although there is no documentary or archaeological evidence that it had anything to do with the Molims of Egypt, or that he would have pursued them Jewish slaves while fleeing from Egypt. He would also complain about Merneptah in the form of a poem of the so-called Israel Stale: "Israel has been removed from the face of the earth ... its tribe no longer exists." However, it can not be said that there is evidence from this phrase that firmly supports the identity of a certain pharaoh in the position of the one during the Exodus.

  1. NO NO ARCH
    Mystery: Where is Noah's Ark?

Late in the time of Eusebius of Caesarea (275-339 AD), bishop in Palestine, theologian, apologist and historian of the Christian Church, to this day, the physical remains of Noah's Ark were the subject of fascination and their search for a an important field of activity for both Christians, Jews and Muslims. Until recently, despite any alleged observations and expeditions, no physical evidence of the ark could be found. This search received the stigma of "witch hunting" from some archaeologists. The arc's seekers had few clues to guide them to the artifact beyond the Genesis mentions of the "mountains of Ararat." Until the beginning of the 21st century, two major candidates for exploration have come to the surface: the so-called Ararat anomaly, near the top of Mount Ararat (called "anomaly" since it was just recently an aerial and satellite image that looks like a blackened area snow and ice on the top) and the Durupinar site, near Dogubayazit, 29 kilometers south of the Great Ararat peak.

03.jpg

However, recently, a group of Chinese and Turkish explorers looking for biblical relics announced that they may have discovered the Noah's Ark, at an altitude of 4,000 meters, on Mount Ararat in Turkey. The team claims to have collected wooden specimens from a structure on Mount Ararat, located in eastern Turkey, whose radiocarbon dating established their origins 4,800 years ago, a period that coincides with what is believed to have Noah's Flood took place. "We are not 100% sure that it's about the Arca, but 99.9 percent of it is about it," said Yeung Wing-Cheung, a Hong Kong documentary maker and member of the 15-person team on the traces of Noah's Ark. The structure revealed by the Chinese-Turkish partnership had several compartments, some of which contained wooden cages in which the animals are believed to be kept. Turkish local officials will ask the Ankara government to apply for UNESCO's International Heritage status so that the newly discovered site is protected while archaeological excavations will be performed around it. According to the Old Testament Bible story, God decided to flood a flood on Earth after seeing it go down and told Noah to build an arc to shelter one pair of each animal species. After the flood waters have retreated, says the Bible, the ark remained clustered on a mountain. Many believe that Mount Ararat, the highest point in its region, is where Noah's Ark and its occupants returned to the ground.

  1. ISPITIC FATS
Mister: How did animals look before Original Sin? But man?

"The Lord said to the snake:" Because you did this, cursed to be among all the beasts and all the beasts of the field; "(Genesis, 3:14) The fragment of" on your slopes, "as a punishment on the part of the Creator, makes it quite obvious that before you this snake, the snake, as we know it today, looks different or, at least, it has another means of locomotion. What was that?

02.jpg

Had the winged serpents and the fly before being condemned to a life of traitors, or at least some limbs with which they moved on to the earth, like lizards? Given the shape and size of snakes, regardless of their species, it is hard to imagine that they had wings or even legs. At best, they could look like some miriapods, but certainly this locomotory feature would not have been particularly helpful for their movement, so the deprivation of dozens of legs would come as a damnation.

  1. CAIN'S FOX
Mystery: Did there exist other people on Earth besides Adam, Eve, Cain and Abel? Who made them?

"And thou wilt cast me out of this land, I will hide from thy face, and be troubled and fled upon the earth, and whosoever shall meet me shall slay me: and the Lord Jehovah said unto him, Not so, but he that killeth Cain will be punished. "And the Lord God made a sign to Cain, that he who will meet him will not kill him." And Cain went from the face of God, and dwelt in the land of the Nod at the east of Eden Then Cain knew his wife, and she, thinking, gave birth to Enoch, and to Enoch was born Irad, "Genesis (4: 14-18). The first part of this verse only raises questions and leaves room for speculation. A very rigorous analysis can generate a debate starting from the words "whoever will meet me" and "all who will kill Cain", as Adam, Eve and Cain were the only humans on Earth, deducting from biblical information until that moment. But with enough indulgence, it can be considered that both God and Cain referred to Adam, Eve and the animals on Earth by the word "anyone," even if it seems unnatural.

01.jpg

But the fact that, after leaving Abel, Cain went to the land of Nod, whose construction by God does not mention anything beforehand, and there he found a woman, with whom he had a son , in turn, became a parent, casting doubt on many original premises. Both Nod's land, which had no reason to be so classified if it was not populated and therefore formed by somebody, and Cain's wife are two extremely controversial elements, which, however interpreted, advance the idea that besides the original pair, Adam and Eve, who have cast doubt on Cain and Abel, still had people whose existence is not mentioned in the early verses of Genesis. Even if we were to accept the idea that they were all children of Adam and Eve, Cain's cross with a woman would have meant a cosanginal connection with no more than his sister.

We know nothing of the woman with whom Cain had children, but an incestuous episode, without any reproof or subsequent divine punishment - at least mentioned in the Bible - is very explicit in the Old Testament. After the episode of Sodom and Gomorrah, the only faithful and surviving right is Lot and his two daughters. Immediately after the destruction of the two cities: "And Lot went out of Zoar, and sat in the mount with his two daughters, for he feared to dwell in Zoar, and dwelt in a cave, together with the two daughters of Then he said to the youngest, "Our father is old and there is no one in this land to come to us, as is the custom of the earth. But let us come to woo our father with wine, and sleep with him, and raise up his seed: and they have drunk their father with wine that night, and that night, entering the eldest, sleeping with her father, and she did not feel when she was asleep and when she got up. And the next day the oldest said to the youngest: "Behold, I slept with my father tonight; to drink it with wine and this night, and to go in and sleep with him to raise up our descendants from our father! "And they drunk him with wine and this night, and the smallest went in and slept with him, and he did not know when she lay down, nor when she arose, and both the daughters of Lot were both of them, their fathers: and he bare the son of a son, and named him Moab, saying, from my father. "This is the father of the Moabites, who are still today: and he bare the youngest son, and called his name Ben-Ammi, saying, This is the son of my people. and today."
Genesis 19: 30-38
