The virgin birth of Isa (Jesus) peace be upon him is supremely important in Islam. It is one of the most important miracles of Allah (God). The first explicit mention of an annunciation foreshadowing the birth of Isa (Jesus) peace be upon him is in surah 19 (Maryam) peace be upon her, ayah 20 where Maryam (Mary) peace be upon her asks Gabriel (Jibril) how she will be able to conceive when no man has touched her.
