Absence of faith founded on metaphysical positions?

It’s somewhat ironic so many atheists and agnostics blame religion for the world’s greatest problems and human conflicts, while their only concept of God seems to be the all knowing, all powerful God specific religious texts refer to which atheists don’t believe in.

I guess blaming religion is their way of mocking religious beliefs and believers while it seems odd that people of no faith would blame God or religion for problems humans created, when according to atheists, no God ever existed and conscious input into the creation of the universe or various life forms didn’t take place - therefore any problems resulting from belief in God, or religious faith, are rooted in human inabilities, failures, weaknesses, excesses and ambitions, selfish, criminal or otherwise in some combination.

And in spite of all their differences, atheists and people of faith have much more in common than many are aware. Aside from the fact we’re all human facing many of the same problems, our lives are positively or negatively affected by the same constructive or destructive human behaviors, driven by the same human characteristics, strengths and weaknesses, emotions and selfish ambitions as anyone’s case may be - regardless of what anyone personally believes about the existence of God.
