Today I would like to look at John 15 verse 1 to 2

1)“I am the real vine, and My Father is the gardener.
2)He breaks off every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, and He prunes every branch that does bear fruit, so that it will be clean and bear more fruit.

In these verses two types of pruning is discussed, pruning to remove (cut-off) and pruning to correct. Branches that bear no fruit is cut off from the tree, it is seen as worthless and only good enough to be burned. Fruit bearing branches on the other hand is pruned in such a way to bear more fruit. This means that sometimes it is necessary for God to discipline us, in order for our faith and character to be strengthened through it.

Have a wonderful day.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten... (Rev. 3:19 KJV)

5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. (Heb. 12:5-11 KJV)

Yes, it is because of God's love for us that He discipline us, just as parents do to their kids.

Thanks for these daily, and hassanabid I agree respect is already part of belief.
