Yes, this unique museum is in Indian School of Mines (IIT) in Dhanbad. The stones and fossils present here are not thousands but millions and millions of years old. Some stones and fossils are in the early stages of the earth.
The fossil of a tree is 25 million years old. Thousands rare rare fossils are also here. There are many prized gems too. Animals such as fish, trees, elephants are powerful sign of fossil biological growth. The most unique collection of the museum is displayed in the Oval Gordon in front of Heritage Building. This Geological-Fossil Museum is one of the unique museums in the country. The fossils present here are witness to the development of the earth. The IIT ISM was founded on the lines of Britain's Royal School of Mines in 1926 by the British government. The Royal School of Mines already had a Geological Museum. Similarly, the Colorado School of Mines in America was the same museum in the School of Mines of Curtin University in Australia. When IIT ISM was being established in 1926 At the same time it was decided to open the Geological Museum.
