Phra Siwalee Thera monk was the son of Queen Suppavasa who was the daughter of the King of Koliya. Siwalee was in the womb for 7 years, 7 months and 7 days. When the Queem was pregnant, he made his mother completed with very great fortune. When he was born, he was born easily. The power borned of the Buddha bestowed a blessing saying that, “May Suppavasa be happy, free from parasitic disease, give birth to a son without any diseases."
When he grew up, he ordained in the Sariputta's residence. By the time his hair was finished shaving, he achieved Dharma. After that, he completed with good fortune and worships which was without any lack of all four factors. Therefore, he was regarded by the Buddha as he was the
most specialist monk in the way, the wealthiest monk at that time. In the Buddhist scriptures there was not stated that where he passed away at the end of nirvana. By the way, he had maintained his life for long time enough and then he passed away.
In the buddhist era whenever the lord Buddha would lead a group of monks to propagated the Dharma to the isolated area, he will also have Phra Siwalee Thera monk joined his group. Therefore along the way the Lord Buddha and a group of monks passed by, they would find that there were always people who made merit, gave them alms including food and shelter. No matter how far or desolate land it is..
With the merit of this Phra Siwali Thera Monk, it doesn't just happen to you, but also spread to the Lord Buddha including other disciples to get the factors thoroughly. Therefore, the Buddha declared to appear among the Buddhists, praising him in the position of Ekdakkha, who was superior to all the monks in terms of "the very wealthy".
For this reason that is the origin of the belief that he was the monk of fortune and richness that would be never lack. Also, this faith is still the evident inherited untill the present time. If anyone worships Phra Sivali Thera monk properly, they would find wealth quickly And never lack of money.
