In particular white evangelicals are significantly more likely to be unvaccinated. Some of this is from politics, but even among Republicans, evangelical Republicans are more likely to be unvaccinated than non-evangelical Republicans. There's some research showing that faith-based messaging can be helpful and that faith leaders are important trusted messengers for vaccination. Francis Collins, the former head of the NIH, is notably an evangelical Christian. He framed it well as a gift from God to help us against the virus.
