Let us examine a few biblical examples of the called and the purpose of rheir callings.
Moses was called to deliver the Israelites feom the slavery of the Egyptians (Exodus 3:7,10).
God called Abraham. God needed to begin a new chapter in human history. God saw in Abraham a man of simple faith and trust. He saw a man who could respond to a seemingly foolish instruction without questioning it (Genesis 12:1-5).
He called the twelve disciples to be His followers. (Luke 6:13).
Paul was called to preach to the Gentiles (Acts 9:15; Acts 13:2; Acts 22:21).
Elijah was called to speak God's word to a king who often rejects His message. He proved to the peophets of Baal the supremacy of His God (1Kings 17:1; 1Kings 18:30-40)
