This will possibly go down as one of the hardest computer games I have ever played as a kid and frankly even now! I'm not kidding when I say that I barely lasted a minute into the game most times.
Now, this is not a great game, infact it has very little to do with the TV show it is based on aside from the decent musical rip of the TV theme. You can put this title down as a bit of a cash grab (nothing changes there does it!?)
Released by Elite in 1985, the premise of the game is to rescue some scientists from the most awkward to manouvre cave imaginable. The controls were really rough and sprite detection not great. It was very easy to lose a life, probably intentional as the overall map of the game is not very large at all.
Your helicopter is quite large and the caverns really tight so gameplay is very claustrophobic with none of the fun of other cavern type games like Thrust.
This is one to boot up once for the theme and the nostalgia then forget about for another 30 years!
I agree this was a ridiculously hard game. It probably would have been manageable if they just would have made the helicopter about half the size. As it is, half the time you die just trying to turn around.
