I know what you mean. I remember walking in to my local CompUSA (which doesn't exist anymore) and seeing these there. Seems like yesterday but it was almost 20 years ago...

I own two of these right now, and I love these laptops. While the design may have seemed unusual at the time of release, it really gives them character now. I personally love the look of them.
Just have to watch picking them up too fast, as the top is a tad heavy.
