"..Pac-Man came out for the Atari 2600, it was somewhat of a disappointment.." You're being WAY too kind. I admit that I played the hell out of that version, but it was because nothing else was available. Shame about the 5200 version.

The Atari 8-bit computer version came out before even the 2600 version. It's just that even an Atari 400 cost more than double what an Atari 2600 cost. I'm not sure when the Commodore 64 version came out but if I recall correctly it was even better than the Atari computer version.
