Atari wanted to introduce more people to the wondrous technology from their company. They would do this through "stores" in malls. I put "stores" in quotes, because I don't think they actually sold anything inside of these locations. What they did do was show-off their gaming, computer and even telephone technologies. This would get people interested in computer programming, engineering, and just science & technology in general. These technologies would be used with film & entertainment from Warner Communications. It sounds like this would have been the most popular spot in the mall. Supposedly some of the centers were actually built, but as far as I can tell, only a prototype location ever saw the light-of-day.
