Reverse Image Search and You

This is a post I selected to author because of the simple fact that there are plenty of internet users who don't understand two very basic tools for conducting a reverse image search on the web today. For instance, have you had the desire to locate the origin of a particular image?

There is a constant stream of content here on the web, so if you learn a few tricks or two, you can take advantage of it. The following are two tools which you can utilize for your own research purposes. They are also pretty prominent providers of content indexing, one designed specifically for this purpose, the other for another.

You are familiar with Google, you must even know of the Google Image tool, it; essentially a global search index for image data, be it graphics or photos. You can take advantage of Google's own tool to do a reverse image search by simply clicking on the camera icon within the search field.

As you can see below are the results of using Google's reverse image search, many results have popped up here. The following below will show you a quick glimpse of that.

If you haven't ever tried it, feel free to do that sometime, you might get lucky and find out where something came from originally. Google even provided a helpful guide on their reverse image search functionality.

The second provider I wanted to highlight is called TinEye, it has been around for quite a while and focuses more on the details of the origin of an image rather having to sift through the images themselves for that information. It's well laid out and the name serves the purpose, you can check out this preview too.
