Review Dark Souls: Remastered

in review •  6 years ago

Let me start by saying that I am not a fan of the Dark Souls series, but it is undeniable that they have introduced a new level of difficulty and challenge to the gaming world, not only in the series, but in other games that may be more famous, such as Bloodborne and Nioh. Series, however, Dark Souls remain the basis on which all these games were built. Whether you played it in the past or the Remastered version is your first knowledge of the series, it is an experience you should not miss.

The game begins from the perspective of the third person at the end of the world as we know it, the era of fire has come to me irreversibly and all that remains of it is some flame scattered throughout the earth. In Lordran the dragons ruled the world until the great leaders came and spent it with the help of magic and fire, but after successive ages the fire begins to fade in preparation for the extinguishment and the beginning of the dark age. Here we see the first improvements, the world is no longer so dark as in the previous game, it may contrast with the concept of the game, but gives you a broader perspective, which prevents many hiccups and deaths that can be easily avoided.

Our hero is one of the living dead who came in the Dark Age. At the beginning of the game we find that many Adamites have become eternal souls. Whatever their way of dying, they return to the living world soon after they are condemned to eternity. The hero is trying to escape from the prison of the living dead and succeed, his next step is to search for the great leaders and end the era of darkness, but his way full of difficulties embodied in the image of monsters and enemies of the very strength and ferocity. The game is that every opponent you win is an achievement for you, to defeat a major monster from the first or even the tenth attempt is an impossible hit for the non-veteran, the game slogan is that victory is born from the womb of defeat and that death is the best way to learn opponent's weaknesses .

Between the use of weapons and shields and magic, fighting may be difficult at first, but by exploring the world and multiple conflicts in missions it becomes commonplace. More fun fighting is the possibility of team play available where you can share your friends adventure up to 6 people at a time, of course helps the graphics developed for the game and the possibility of playing on 60 frames per second to make the experience smooth and simple to a large extent. With all the facilities that were not available in the original version, it seems that the main objective of the game is to re-introduce the game of new players on the modern machines and the nostalgia factor of the veteran players who have tested the previous version and want to return to the atmosphere they might consider the best part of the series.

It seems that Bandai Namco has surpassed itself by improving and developing Dark Souls to suit the needs of the technological age. The game was released on May 25, 2018 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One and is expected to come to the Nintendo switch at the end of the year.
