Welcome to my review of Neverwinter, a MMORPG based on the Dungeons&Dragons role games developed by Cryptic Studios.
I´ll not talk about the lore of the game to avoid spoilers of both the D&D boardgame and the online itself.
We start with a tutorial where we learn about the mechanics of using abilities, items and equip weapons, armors and jewelry.
We can have a maximum of 3 abilities called Encounter powers, initially binded to the keys Q, E and R, and a maximum of 2 basic attacks, casted by left and right clicking.
However, every class will go through a whole tree of abilities and choose which one to set at the moment.
The quest system is as it´s the most of times in MMORPG games. A main path of the lore and a lot of secondary quests.
Also, each race has a special storyline available in certain maps and dungeons.
The maps are big or the kind o game. Keep in mind that this is game is mostly PvE (Player versus Environment).
Moreover, they have a lot of events that are pretty fun, as summer, winter or halloween ones.
In addition, there are some maps that spawn a legendary dragon every 20min that can be slain for good loot.
Once you reach the maximum level (70), is where the fun begins: that´s the moment when you are able to join queues for epic dungeons and raids, as Lostmauth Lair or Demorgon Encounter.
But, the most important thing in this game, in my opinion, is that you can get the special token just by playing, not only by paying. This let free-players to reach the same difficult quests and make huge guilds without spending money.
This is a very quick post about this game. Next week I will write about the classes and their builds/strategy in depth.
If you are a MMORPG lover, you should check this game out, you will like it, I promise <3.
See you in the next post!
