The world premiere of the series "Black Lightning", created by American filmmakers in the genre of fantasy drama and action, took place on January 13, 2018. This series did not appear in the Russian box office, but it can be found on the Internet on sites that provide services for viewing movies online.
I want to introduce you to a new, excellent series, designed for four seasons, the third of which started on October 8 last year, 2019, and the premiere of the fourth, final, is scheduled for October 2020.
The plot of the series is based on comics. Filming takes place in Atlanta, Georgia. The series was awarded the "Black Reel" award for best drama series.
I got to watch this series purely by accident. I was looking for a completely different series, but I found "Black Lightning" under its brand, and in the end I was even grateful to the unscrupulous video distributor who posted the wrong series that announced. However, my first thought at the beginning of viewing this picture was-fu-u-u, again about superheroes, again some already pretty tired of another story about supermen, semi-human demigods who look down on everything and everyone with contempt.
However, I watched a couple of episodes of the first season, I unexpectedly got involved in viewing it, and at the time of writing this review, I am already watching the third series of the third season.
Unlike other supermen, the main characters in this picture are essentially ordinary people who live among the other residents of the small town of Freeland. Jefferson pierce works as the Director of a school for troubled teenagers, most of them black, giving them a "second chance" to start the life of a good citizen of the country. And no one around you even knows that he is the legendary "Black Lightning", once terrifying the criminals of this city, for some time disappeared from the view of the citizens. However, when members of the brazen "Hundred" gang kidnap his daughters, Jeff pierce puts on his superhero costume again... Later some time to Black electric Storm join and his daughters, in which, too, "awakened" superpowers...
What do I like about the plot of this series? It is quite interesting, fascinating, and captures many aspects of social and political life. Interesting here is the story of children with superpowers, locked in capsules for many years, on which experiments were conducted. Interesting scenes of confrontation between black Lightning and members of His family (his wife and two daughters) to the Tobias Weil gang, mysterious marterians, as well as distributors of dangerous drugs "Green light" and other more or less dangerous criminals.
I will not fully disclose the plot of this series to you, but it is almost impossible to do this within the framework of the review. It is so full of various events, in which there is a place for hand-to-hand fighting, and battles with the help of superpowers and spells, and romantic relationships... It addresses many important issues of public life in the country as a whole and its black population in particular.
The only thing I don't like is that here, as in most modern films, it's not without an illustration of non-traditional sexual relationships.
Playing actors-cress Williams (Jefferson Pierce), Ann McClain (Anissa), Nafessa Williams (Jennifer), Kristin Adams (Lynn Stewart), James Remar (Gumby), Marvin "Krondon" Jones III (Tobias Weil) and others, almost does not cause complaints. All of them adequately cope with their roles.
