Armour Thyroid

Armour Thyroid is used to treat under active thyroid (hypothyroidism). Armour Thyroid is made from animal thyroid glands (usually a pig's).

Just picked up my mans 90 day supply of Armour Thyroid and it is not cheap
90 pills were $121.62 that calculates out to $1.35 a pill . I can remember just 8 or 9 years ago this costs around $37 for the same thing.

Armour Thyroid may cause side effects. He has experienced perhaps one of the side effects and that would be not sleeping enough hours per night.

Below are some possible side effects that some people may experience .

Changes in appetite,Diarrhea or increased bowel movements,Changes in menstrual periods,Chest pain, Excessive sweating, Tremor, Inability to tolerate warm or hot temperatures, Fainting, Nervousness,

Levothyroxine (Synthroid)

The Levothyroxine (Synthroid) is also used for the treatment of under active thyroid (hypothyroidism). This is the one most doctors prescribe and this is the one he started taking many years ago before switching to the Armour Thyroid. The reason he switched is because the Levothyroxine (Synthroid) was causing him muscle cramps and also during the time he was on this medication he had two different muscle tears . The doctors said that the Levothyroxine (Synthroid) would not cause this but we beg to differ we think the Levothyroxine (Synthroid) was causing the problems . When he switched to the Armour Thyroid the problems stopped . Once in a while he will get a muscle cramp ( charlie horse ) in his calf muscle but they are rare in occurrence ever since the switch . He only took the Levothyroxine (Synthroid) for around 6 months and has been on the Armour Thyroid for around 20 years now .
