Please help us show off Steem's potential in our community by supporting our quest to raise funds to reimburse the band boosters for one band member's travel from Pennsylvania to Florida for this year's Citrus Bowl Parade.

Breaking News

We just received an e-mail from the band boosters that Rustin's first playoff game will be a home game, this Friday night (November 2) at 7pm. Coincidentally, it is a rematch of the homecoming game against the Oxford Hornets. Rustin's marching band will perform the pre-game show, taking the field at 6:35 pm.

With a 7-2 record, Rustin is now ranked #73 in the state of Pennsylvania. Oxford is ranked #253 with their 5-5 record.

The e-mail also says that if Rustin football makes it further into the playoffs, the band will only be playing stands music, so this will be your last chance to see this year's show performed live.

Introduction

As with all of the games that the marching band attends, this game summary has been divided into three sections. For previous posts, please see:

Going in, the game between 3-2 Rustin and 4-1 Oxford was expected to be a close match-up. Oxford had the better record, but they had lost to Penn Wood, whereas Rustin had already beaten Penn Wood, so from this fan's perspective, the game could have gone either way.

The remainder of this post will contain photos from the stands experience at Rustin's October 5 homecoming game. In general, these stands posts tend to have photos of football players on the field, cheerleaders as viewed from the stands, and of course, the marching band playing stands music, sometimes with some other interesting aspects of the game sprinkled in. This post will follow the same structure. Unfortunately, I ran head-long into cell phone battery limits, so I don't have as many stands photos from the night. (At the homecoming game, of all nights!)

Unless otherwise noted, all pictures are original photos that were taken with an LG-G4 cell phone. For a better view, you can right click on a photo and open it in a new tab.

Conclusion

Thank you for taking the time to view this post and for supporting the Rustin Golden Knights Marching Band!

As we have already posted, the game's final score was 49-13 in favor of Rustin. Oxford played a great game, though, and we thoroughly enjoyed watching their band's pre-game performance. For earlier posts from the game, please visit these links:

The @rgkmb-unofficial account is an experimental account that is operated by Steve Palmer (@remlaps). The account's purpose is to demonstrate the viability of a fund-raising model that is based on use of the Steem block chain in the community. The account's goal for 2018 is to raise enough money to send one student on the Rustin Golden Knight Marching Band's trip from Pennsylvania to Florida in December for performances in the Citrus Parade and in Disney.
