When someone speaks badly about you...

This is not gonna be a long article, I just wanted to share two tweets I just saw posted by Rick Warren on Twitter. Take a look at them yourself.

Don't worry what others are thinking about you because they aren't. They're thinking about themselves too.

And if anyone says mean things about you, just bless them back. They're revealing THEIR character, not yours.

It is especially the second tweet that I enjoy a lot! When someone speaks badly about you, they are actually revealing much more about themselves. They are showing the world a lot of who they are, and not about who you are.

A person full of life, joy, goodness, and encouragement will not walk around backbiting and spread bad words. It will be the complete opposite.

This gives us two questions

  1. What is revealed when you speak about others? What kind of person are you?
  2. Are you able to look beyond mean words and understand that it's not about you, but about the person saying the words?
Those might be tough questions, but they are worth asking! Have a wonderful and blessed day!
