Always the context matters, not the action. There is no right or wrong; it is relative.
But then the question arises, if people do everything they like will it be a chaos? Yes, it will if people act irrationally. When I say there is no right or wrong, it about the action. However, we can do act rightly. It will be confusing, confusing for me too.
Let me explain.
All of us could see that there are reversible and irreversible outcomes for processes/actions we do. It is about the selection of actions. If we are not hurting anybody by my action, we can select either reversible or irreversible action. But if you feel that our action may hurt somebody then looks for actions that reversible ones. This will help us to bring a smile to the face of others if we are doing it in a wrong way.
It may be an absurd example, but currently it is one come to my mind. At some point, we may be very angry at someone. But do not do anything which is irreversible. Once the context changes, we may feel guilty about what we have done and it may haunt you throughout the life.
So we can follow some simple steps while doing things.
Check our action will hurt somebody else/ ourselves if we do it even in long run.
If no, do it as you like.
If yes, see if there are any alternatives.
Finding alternatives is easy:
- Just wait for sometime and see if the context changes and your requirement changes.
- Another way is to put yourself in the shoes of others and see what action could be the best one provided the context. Then you would get many alternatives; choose the one which does not hurt others or hurt the others least and reversible.
- Understand the context, identify why does it require to do something and try to solve the problem at its root. Many times if we could solve problems at a fundamental level then it won't hurt anyone in long run.
Last thing, but not the least, we are just for just a maximum of around 36600 days (assuming 100 years) so why should we waste our time hurting yourself or others.
Just love; Spread love.
(there are more things associated with this idea; stopping here for time being. I will comeback to it later)
