Writing About How to Write Good

in righting •  7 years ago  (edited)

Who feels like solving riddles? Nobody does, and that is why-- following this post-- I will begin writing with more clarity, so that readers won’t have to struggle with these math equations that I call sentences as they try to grasp what it is that I am so desperately trying to convey.

Verbal Math

The reader shouldn’t have to do any mathematics to solve the meaning of a sentence. Of course, there have been famous writers in the history of literature who could cleverly devise a series of phrases and words which perfectly conveyed their point, but like this sentence, and not unlike those writers-- who were not apprehensive about failing to restrain from such un-simplicity-- my point is, more often than not, and even with the generous use of commas, lost.

To simplify the paragraphs, the number of words used to convey the concepts can be reduced, or lessened, and redundant phrases or words deleted and edited out. In other words, a less complicated collection of words could have been used here, without so much repetition of certain words, and by using less words to make a point.

Indeed, at some stage in the writing of such a post, it becomes apparent that there is no need to go on about a particular subject any further, and somehow the whole post must end. The importance of a coherent ending can be seen here. And, here.

I'm allowed to occasionally post this sort of thing, for entertainment purposes only. Not writing well is nothing to joke about. Photo above-- also not funny, is mine, 2017

Touche, brother. What an elaborate elucidation of a topic so ubiquitous to all and none here on this digital platform that we frequent. It has not gone unnoticed how you flexed your eloquence to convey an otherwise drab topic and infused it with immense energy. Your sprightly expansion of this truly deserves more recognition than it has currently received. Many people would find this extremely useful indeed!

This is that 'how to write' thing I was talking about, and just now I saw a post that I'd missed of yours from a few days ago about writing (I think it was about writing) and now you are here! This post finished soon, it was all over so quickly.

Haha! I figured that it was! November has a way of rooting out a lot of writing tips post, I think. It was the same climate here just last year haha!

For no reason whatsoever I heard this whole thing in my head like @jimitations was reading it out XD
