↪️The #SEC's attempt to prevent the #XRP community from interfering in the SEC - Ripple case was denied by the #court. The community can now #submit a request for intervention.
The US district court in New York gave the green light to John E. Deaton (acting on behalf of the XRP community) who wanted to make a request to intervene in the legal battle launched by the SEC against blockchain giant Ripple Labs and its two executives. The request must be submitted by April 19th. If the plaintiff SEC has a response document, these must be filed by 3 May according to the order. The court is expected to announce the official answer on May 17th.
It was previously reported that Judge Analisa Torres refused a request from the XRP community to intervene in the legal fight between the SEC and Ripple. The SEC filed a lawsuit against Ripple on December 21, accusing it of selling unregulated securities ( referring to the Ripple- affiliated XRP token) since the company was founded .
Legal complaints were filed against Ripple Labs, co-founder and former CEO Chris Larsen, and current president Brad Garlinghouse
