Coinbase never said not to add ripple but on December 7, 2017 no new currency was planned.

To follow a little the evolution of the situation I advise you to withdraw what you have on Ripple and follow Coinbase and Ari Paul on Twitter. This is where they publish as soon as they have news to share.
