Over the last few months there has been a lot of talk around Ripple and one of the largest US exchanges Coinbase. All of the hype is if Ripple is going to be listed on Coinbase. If that was to happen one could expect the price to surge for many of reasons. However we have to step back and look at things from Coinbases perspective. With all of the new laws and regulations that are being put in place on whether a coin/token is a security or not plays major role in listing these days of cryptocurrency. According to an article from Bloomberg Ripple offered a large amount of money to be listed on Coinbase and Gemini and both companies rejected the offer. It`s clear that these companies are trying to avoid any legal action from the SEC that could put their operation at risk. So my thought are until Ripple register as a security or register that they are not a security Ripple(XRP) will not be listed on Coinbase or Gemini.
