Ripple just made an announcement that it would be hosting an event called Swell. This event will be headlined by former chairman of the Federal Reserve, Dr. Ben Bernanke, and Sir Tim Berners Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web. A lot of the world's banking giants will be speaking at this event such as Head of Innovation Ed Metzger from Santander Bank and big names in block-chain technology such as President of Chain Inc. Tom Jessop. This is an invitation only event, so they will not be selling tickets.
This is a bigger announcement than it appears to be. This event will bring a lot more attention to Ripple, especially as it is headlined by some big names in the banking and block-chain industries.
Since this announcement was made, the price of Ripple dropped 16%, as I'm sure that people were buying into the hype and expecting news of Ripple joining forces with a company such as AliBaba. This announcement has come off as a disappointment to many, however I think it's still a significant announcement.
So what are yall's thoughts on Ripple? Do you guys trust it, or are you steering away from the tyranny of central banking? :D
