The little talked about testimony of Nathan DeBruin.

Something you more than likely didn't hear about from the news in regards to the Kyle Rittenhouse case was the testimony of Nathan DeBruin, an amateur photographer who took some of the photos used in evidence.

The standout moment was when DeBruin mentioned that the prosecutors tried to have him change his statement — a potentially illegal attempt at trying to get him to commit perjury to help their case. They were initially going to call him as a witness but didn't, and it's speculated that this is due to this encounter.

Fortunately, he hired an attorney and remained silent after the incident until trial. Unfortunately, he is now receiving death threats and has been fired because people are mad that he made the prosecution look bad.

Think about that: People who supposedly are protesting against injustices committed by the system are mad that this guy pointed out that the system tried to get him to do something unjust. Wild.

Anyways, he's doing a GiveSendGo campaign (alternative to GoFundMe that doesn't take a portion of the proceeds) to help recuperate the finances from hiring his own attorneys after the perjury incident and to help him get on his feet as he tries to recuperate from targeted harassment. I think it's a worthwhile cause if you're trying to find something to donate to for Giving Tuesday or even the #LightTheWorld challenge.

Again, this isn't some guy who was out there causing trouble. You might think armed citizens shouldn't have been there armed, you might think rioters shouldn't have been rioting, but there's no reason an amateur photojournalist should be suffering just because his testimony didn't support the verdict some people wanted.
