So, MSNBC has gone full MSNBC and claimed that Rittenhouse got off because of his money.

Yes, despite the multiple attempts by tyrants and hypocrites to get any crowd sourcing for his defense taken down, he still raised about two million dollars for his defense fund.

The stupidity, hypocrisy, and immorality of such an assertion is multilayered.

One, this is being said by people who complain about the criminal justice system exploiting people who don't have money who are flipping on that narrative and trying to say that there's something nefarious about a person who isn't rich being able to find the resources to defend himself. Honestly, any liberal or civil libertarian should donate to defense funds whenever we can even if we do think that the person is guilty.

Also, no Rittenhouse's defense team wasn't all that great. There were times when even I was yelling at them to object and they didn't. Yeah, the more Binger talked, the more he dug the prosecution into a hole; but, they could have buried him earlier. Rittenhouse was acquitted because the state had no case, not because of his money.

There was also a comparison to OJ, which I've seen a lot of people make. There's a clear difference. OJ got off because somebody said the N-word and some people didn't know how gloves work. Rittenhouse got off because he was innocent.
