Render (RNDR) is a Decentralised GPU rendering solution that is powerful, scalable & efficient.
How does it work ?
People having idle GPUs connect their systems to the render network using the Octane Render (infrastructure of render) and become Node operators.
The users in need for rendering solutions send files to the node operators and pay with RNDR tokens.
OTOY (parent company of Render) receives a small percentage of RNDR tokens for facilitating the transaction and providing the Octane infrastructure.
The scope of this project
RNDR project opens up a whole new world of possibilities for Digital & NFT creators to develop more generative & dynamic art experiences.
Eliminates the need for the high end GPUs & hardware systems by harnessing the power of un utilised resources lying idle with plenty of users around the world which leads to lower costs & higher speed of rendering.
Not only GPUs but the Octane render provides a ledger based blockchain storage system for creative works & a decentralised system to manage rendering jobs.
Why RDNR ?
More than just GPU rendering
RNDR is looking to scale in the NFT marketplace by providing dynamic solutions to the artists through Render archives, issuing & minting NFT directly through their platforms.
They have onboarded the leading artist Beeple on their advisory board, which shows they are actively looking to create more solutions in the artist & NFT space.
Also, RNDR is used by the leading 3D crypto artists to export their metaverse content.
Technical infrastructure
RNDR has migrated to the polygon(MATIC) the leading layer 2 arbitrum solution to speed up confirmation times at lower costs. With this adoption, it can now migrate payments & mint NFT by tokenising every small elements like Models, textures & other assets
RNDR has also shifted its core to a secure & programmatic infrastructure Solana which will be used to Issue & own intellectual properties.
The partnership with Metaplex - a decentralised protocol for digital asset insurance and on chain ownership enables RNDR to monetize the NFT & the metaverse space more efficiently.
Adoption by the leading tech companies
RNDR's partnership with apple which was highlighted in their latest launch event of M1 pro & M1 max, makes their Octane X available for MacOS users, and signifies that apple is using their infrastructure.
Google has also began to connect its Google cloud GPUs to the RNDR network.
Octane Render has some of the worlds largest companies as its clients & the biggest entertainment companies are also using RNDR infrastructure. Disney accelerator is the seed investors in RNDRs parent company OTOY.
Adoption by Miners
Many tokens are moving towards proof of Stake (PoS) concept which has resulted in reducing demands for the infrastructure, GPUs used by the miners for Poof of Work (PoW) protocol.
One of the better options for the the existing PoW infrastructures is Decentralised GPU ecosystems. There are chances that miners could possibly enrol as node operators & start generating rewards out if it.
Who are the Competitors ?
The closest competitor to RNDR at present is Golem Network which provides decentralized network connecting GPUs around the world using their GNT token.
Though the intrinsic value of both RNDR & Golem might look very similar, the scope & the vision expands to different set of use cases.
While RNDR is looking to explore the metaverse & the NFT space, Golem on the other hand is exploring to a different set of use cases like machine learning, scientific computing, image recognition, or anything that can be integrated into into their code.
Team
Jules Urbach - Founder @ Render
Jules is the chief architect for RNDR who sets strategic vision and technology roadmap. He has over 25 years of industry experience in computer graphics, streaming & 3D rendering.
A game developer himself, Jules made his first game - Hell Cab, one of the first CD-ROM games at the age of 18. Thereafter he has founded 3 organisations - Groove alliance, Light stage & OTOY.
To summarise
The scope of render is not just restricted to the growing competitive market of decentralised GPU rendering solutions but also the growing metaverse and NFT space.
The RNDR token is not just backed by the project but provides a significant level of utility to its users.
At present it is also considered as project that has the potential of becoming the Next generation leader in the NFT & Metaverse.
