Rabindranath Tagore was born in a wealthy Sanskrit Parali Brahmin family of Kolkata, Kolkata, India's capital. He disagreed with formal education in Bali. Therefore, he appointed his tutor to arrange his education at home. At the age of eight, he started his poetry. In 1874 his first poem was published in 'Tattabodhodhini Patrika'. The name of the poem was 'Abilash'. This was his first published work
Besides, 52 books of Rabindranath, 38 plays, 13 novels, 36 essays and other prose compositions were published in his lifetime or immediately after his death. His total of 95 short stories and 1915 songs were included in the collection of 'Stories' and 'Gitbitan' respectively. Then he wrote many more poetry articles. In 1905, he became involved in anti-partition Swedish movement. In 1913, he won the Nobel Prize for his English translation of 'Gitanjali'. Rabindranath is the first Nobel laureate in Asia continent In 1915, the British government gave him the knighthood.
Rabindranath Tagore was born in Jorasanko Tagore family of Calcutta. He was the son of Brahma Dharmaguru Maharshi Debendranath Tagore and his 14th son Saradasundari Devi. His education was arranged by leaving home tutor at home. Rabindranath got the chance to get out of Jorasanko once in his childhood.
