Good evening Steemians!
Today, I searched a lot about this! I searched many different bots according to people requirements and talked with many famous steemians about this! why people use bots? whats the purpose of using bots?
Are the bots beneficial? Are they legit? or are they allowed in steemit? as i thought it breaks the laws of steemit! as i assumed it is spamming!-- no offends to aanyone!
But still not understand what's the purpose of this?? I mean, If I talk about the real social system with humans!
Then, Steemit doesn't fulfill it! if it allows bots in this system to get upvotes!
I understand reason of some people that they said we are on jobs we don't have enough time so we use bots to do our stuff!
I mean, then why are you using this social platform if you are much busy in your stuff. Just don't use it.
But think why they are using? Oh c'mon! Their bots generating money for them.
So then, it means it's all about money? Right?
if they are using bots for just money! then i guess spamming should also be allowed!
Because, the purpose of spamming is also same! We do spam just to get benefit mostly in terms of money.
I see alot of people here agrees that there should be no bots. They want everything to be real.
Because i think this is really unfair to upvote only those top best curators. that's mean newbies can never get upvotes?
Because everyone needs money so they only set their bots to upvote those top curators so they can get some big benefit!
Sorry, if someone found it against to him/her.
OR someone feels bad!
This is just a general Discussion! Don't want to hurt anyone.
Steemit.com and Steem is all about community and helping each other grow. Our Upvote Bots Are Helping New Steemians Get A Small Boost To Their Posts. This will help them grow and one day they will not need upvote bots but we help.
When you spend hours on a quality post and get a few cents it can be discouraging. This is where @binkley which is bionic comes in handy. I can check for quality and give a small upvote that helps maybe get the social contagion started. Some posts do not get upvoted.
You are right about it should always be actual people but far too often this doesn't happen or the people voting do not have alot of power. One way to overcome this is with a community upvote bot like @steemthat.
https://SteemThat.com is built around upvote bots and other tools that new steemians can use to try and grow. The community helps each other with following and upvoting each others quality posts and calling you out for junk posts and offering to help when we can. Additionally everyone that uses the @steemthat upvote bot benefits by being a member and helping the upvote bot grow. One day @steemthat will be powerful and will only support those that support him back. Bots Are People Too

"Bots Are People Too" :) Thanks for your input. It helps clarify some of my own thoughts.
I was thinking, if it's about being social, and the bot is capable of being social (like Watson) wouldn't THAT be a wonderful social experiment?
I agree that bots who only go through and up-vote peoples posts, regardless of quality are a bad idea. I would think the moderators of the site wouldn't want that at all. If it creates a valid discussion, though, that sounds great to me.

I totally agree. If steemit is to be considered a social platform, then there is no desire for bots, as they are no social beings.
I understand why people use them, but I agree with you that is really shouldn't be happening, and that it is really only helping big, vested players.
Maybe this is like a childhood disease, it wil clear-up eventually.
Upvoted. ;)

I said this in response to binkley, but I guess it should be here in the main thread too.
If the bot is able to contribute valuable ideas to the conversation and consider quality, I say it's a great idea (which Watson is capable of, so it's possible). If they're all about up-voting regardless of quality, it's just a way to cheat the system.
