About a year ago we played summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Its the worlds biggest music festival and features nearly a thousand acts. Last year we had the pleasure of being the supporting opener for the one and only Richard Marx and the year before that we opened for Pat Benetar.
Funny story about Richard, and I don't have any photos unfortunately... , because I had never actually seen him before. I had heard his music, known about his career, but never seen him. So I'm backstage before our set and his short looking, italian guy comes up to me, is very friendly, and we shoot the breeze for awhile. I ask him about his tour, where he's going next, what city he came from; (usual tour chatter), we shared some stories and i went on stage. It wasn't until after we finished and he took the stage that i realized i had been talking to Richard Marx the whole time backstage. We never exchanged names, it was just a conversation between to co workers. Water cooler talk . Weird right?
