Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen,
I've been pondering this question myself.. for approximately the last 4 days. Honestly? I want to say that 95% of people that I've encountered whether at work or at my previous university, have stated that long distance relationship absolutely do NOT work. I mean, there's definitely two sides to every story since I met individuals in college who (still to this day) have partners who live 50 miles to 5+ states away from them and somehow, they still make it through thick and thin!
I say give it a try! But don't expect good outcomes, but here are my reasons why long distance relationship MAY and MAY NOT work:
COULD WORK:
- Distance isn't an issue, you are not that far apart.
- You've been together for 2 years+
- Belief and self-consciousness tells you NOT to give into temptation.
- Strong communication between both individuals (phone, texting, travelling, etc.)
- Sexual life is still intact, no long-term sexual void.
WILL NOT WORK:
- Not everyone can resist temptation, (TEMPTATION IS A B*TCH!, but only for the weak.)
- Your heart grows fonder, for the wrong reasons: Usually leads to infidelity and just overall physical and mental selfishness.
- Accusations
- Campus is filled with a lot of predator's and the social event's around campus may lean you a certain way.
- "Friends" can be the ones to tempt you to believe it's innocent to flirt or show affection to someone else.
========================================================================
You won't believe the amount of times people have told me that they've been accused of wrongdoing, and had to go out of their way to do a lie detector test (which can range from $200-600, depending on their required testing).
In conclusion, would I recommend long distance dating to absolutely anyone? Well.. yes, because I truly do believe that there are people out there with good intentions and good heart's. Because let's remember the fact that, cheating and lying can be done whether your 5 feet away from your loved one or 100,000 miles away.
Hope you guys enjoyed the read!
I'm out, PEACE!
