Recollections of moments with you,
they are so many, and yet so few,
Each time my mind tries to set them right,
My heart just wants to be with you tonight.
These duels within, I've come to dread,
and feelings that are left unsaid,
will always break the chronology,
that intellect tries to set for me.
For my mind it is but limited,
And takes the space it's permitted,
And even when it is a little shook,
I can make it sit and read a book.
But the soul, it searches for infinity,
and in unhewn events looks for divinity,
Each time I lunged and held its hand,
There's nothing else I had to understand.
And my thoughts, acarpously as they brood,
Waiting for the next tide, holding their breath,
With your recollections, you can change their mood,
So they will trade for your love, this quiescent death.
