The Forbidden City of Jinmen, a 5A scenic spot of chicken 166

What is the taste of Tianjin and what do you think of when you mention Tianjin? Tianjin is the most low-key city in the municipality, too close to Beijing and overshadowed by the city's halo. Few tourists will take Tianjin as their main destination, but basically, they go to Beijing to have some fun in Tianjin in passing, or they are day trips or two-day trips for tourists near Tianjin. Tianjin's history also pales in comparison to the many cities in the north that have been built for thousands of years. Tianjin was founded as a result of the canal, and the city was officially built on the 21st of November in the second year of Ming Yongle (December 23rd 1404 AD), and is the only city in ancient China with an exact record of when it was founded, just 614 years ago. Before I went to Tianjin, the keywords I remembered about Tianjin were "sesame flowers", "dog's mess" and "comic songs".
Tianjin is the third largest of the four municipalities, larger than Shanghai, and has the smallest economy and population. When it comes to tourism in Tianjin, there are only two 5A tourist attractions, one is Panshan in Jixian County, where Emperor Qianlong liked to go. The second is the Ancient Cultural Street of Tianjin, in the northeast of Nankai District, on the west bank of the Hai River, a commercial pedestrian street 687 metres long and 5 metres wide, which in ancient times was a place for worshipping the sea gods and for boatmen to meet for entertainment. I wonder how a commercial pedestrian street can be rated as a 5A scenic spot, although it is one of the few free 5A scenic spots in China, it is also almost the most chicken-hearted 5A scenic spot, not to go and is the only 5A scenic spot in downtown Tianjin, and there is nothing to feel when you go. Pictures
Tianjin Ancient Culture Street such a commercial pedestrian street in the larger tourist cities almost all, although the birthplace of the city, but the buildings are basically new, some of the old local brands and snacks, as well as the nationally visible tourist souvenirs, and around the commercial pedestrian street is not very different, but the country was rated as a 5A scenic spot commercial pedestrian street, only this one, really can not understand.

Visitors come to Tianjin Ancient Culture Street to feel the taste of Tianjin, Tianjin city is the original centre of this area and gradually expand, so here Tianjin Ancient Culture Street is also called "Jinmen Hometown".
2.jpg
Tianjin Ancient Culture Street is one of the ten scenic spots in Tianjin and is said to feature "Chinese, Tianjin, cultural and ancient flavours", with a focus on cultural tourism products with Tianjin characteristics.

The three best things about Tianjin are the three best Tianjin snacks - the dog's bun, the ear-eye fried pudding and the eighteenth street twist; and the three best Tianjin folk crafts - the clay figure Zhang, the Yangliuqing New Year painting and the kite Wei kite.
4.jpg
There are dozens of Tianjin sesame flowers and dog's buns on the ancient culture street with the name "General Store" and "Authentic", making it hard to tell whether they are Li Kui or Li Ghost.
5.jpg
The real Ears Eye Fried Cake and Eighteen Streets Twist Shop are both located outside the Ancient Culture Street, just opposite the pagoda, while the Ears Eye Fried Cake is the main shop, while the Dogs and Buns shop is on Shandong Road in Heping District and the Eighteen Streets Twist Shop is on Gulou East Street in Nankai District.
6.jpg
In the late Qing Dynasty, a man called Liu Laobai opened a small sesame shop called Gui Fa Xiang in the lane called Eighteenth Street, at the southern end of Xiaobailou in Tianjin.
7.jpg
The snacks in Tianjin, however, are basically deep-fried, crispy, flour-based foods like sesame flowers, fried cakes and Zhang Dou Ban.
8.jpg
I'm not really interested in these deep-fried, dry, noodle-based snacks, as there is a big difference between the tastes of the north and the south.
9.jpg
There are a lot of snacks on the ancient cultural street, and many of them have the "Chinese Old Brand" label.
10.jpg
Pancakes and fruitcakes in Tianjin, with egg cakes and dough sticks.
11.jpg
The famous fried pudding is the one with the ear-eye, so named because it is located next to the ear-eye hutong.
12.jpg
Originally the most famous snack in Tianjin was dog's buns, but after it became famous, it became worse and worse, with many counterfeit brands, and the prices were so expensive that a few buns could cost hundreds of yuan at any one time.
13.jpg
After talking about the three best snacks, let's go and see the three best folk crafts, which are still more reliable than the three best snacks.
14.jpg
There are also several shops on the ancient cultural street.
15.jpg
The shops are full of clay figures, but with the development of society and the abundance of material goods, there are fewer and fewer people who like these things.
16.jpg
The prices are not cheap. Nowadays, labour is expensive, and hand-made works are of course expensive, and folk crafts do need to make money to be passed on, but I don't know if there is a market for them.
17.jpg
The cheerful Yang Liu Qing New Year painting is a traditional Han Chinese folk art form with a long history.
18.jpg
Yangliuqing New Year paintings are actually called "Yangliuqing woodblock prints", a woodblock print, named after the town of Yangliuqing in Tianjin.
19.jpg
Yangliuqing New Year Paintings are on the national intangible cultural heritage list and are colourful and full of flavour.
20.jpg
In the middle of the ancient cultural street is a bronze statue of Yan Fu, who translated the Theory of Heavenly Evolution and influenced the history of modern Chinese thought, but Yan Fu was from Fuzhou, so how can he sit here?
21.jpg
During the Beiyang period, Beijing was the capital and Tianjin was the centre. Many of the Beiyang figures, such as the great president Xu Shichang and Cao Kun, were from Tianjin, so many of the historical buildings left in Tianjin are from the Beiyang period.
22.jpg
Although this area of Ancient Culture Street has traditionally been the centre of Tianjin, few of the buildings are now old.
23.jpg
Almost all of the shops are new, but all of them show traditional things, such as the snuff culture exhibition hall, I wonder if there are still people who smoke snuff.
24.jpg
Old Meihua, an old shop famous for making shoes, is probably a bit like Nei Lian Sheng in Beijing.
25.jpg
In fact, there is also a Tianjin Huaxia Shoe Culture Museum on the ancient culture street, which I wanted to see, but I didn't know it was still closed at noon.
26.jpg
This "Wu Bao Zhai" signboard is quite interesting, is hanging upside down, there is a saying that this is very rich, "Wu Bao Zhai" hanging upside down a little here is no silver.
27.jpg
The gourds on the ancient culture street are of all sorts of strange shapes and forms.
28.jpg
The Tianhou Palace is one of the few monuments on the ancient culture street. Tianjin Tianhou Palace is one of the three largest A-Ma temples in the world, along with the A-Ma Temple in Meizhou and the Chaotian Palace in Beigang, Taiwan.
29.jpg
It is the oldest building complex in the city and one of the earliest surviving A-Ma temples in China.
30.jpg
A newly restored sacred statue of Tin Hau is nearing completion. As Tianjin was the endpoint of the sea transport of grain, and sea disasters were a constant occurrence during the sea transport, Tin Hau Temple was built here before there was a city of Tianjin, to pray to Tin Hau for blessings and peace.
Tianjin Ancient Culture Street has a lot of old Jinmen brands, such as Guo Ren Zhang, Beng Dou Zhang, Mud People Zhang, Old Huami, etc. It also has some ancient books such as Tian Hou Gong, a monument built in the Yuan Dynasty, the 600-year-old Yu Huang Ge, the largest Taoist temple in Tianjin, Tong Qing Li, a courtyard complex with the most Tianjin characteristics, as well as the Tianjin Folklore Museum and the Huaxia Shoe Culture Museum, etc. It can be said that Ancient Culture Street is also the most concentrated place of Tianjin taste. It is the original centre of the development of the city of Tianjin. The new pagodas and shops seem to have no historical flavour, and the mix of old shops makes people at a loss, with every household playing the old, authentic, head shop sign, not to mention the commercialisation of the commercial street, giving visitors more of a strong commercial flavour than a Tianjin flavour.
