Security is very important in today’s world. This is Rubideum’s core principle and the same goes for our Rubideum platform; we care for our traders who would never want their information to be leaked or compromised with at any point in time. Though a lot of attacks can be harmful to an exchange platform, Dos (Denial-of-Service) and DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) attacks are really deadly for any platform. Before going forward, let us understand what these attacks are:
DoS attack
A Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack can actually shut down a machine or network. It can eventually make an application inaccessible to its users. Such attacks are launched by flooding the target application with heavy traffic or sending any kind of information that can trigger a crash. Consequently, DoS attacks do not allow legitimate users including traders or wallet holders from using any service or resource they need. Although DoS attacks do not lead to loss of significant information, they can be expensive in the way that victims will have to spend a great deal of time and money to handle such attacks.
DDoS attack
A Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack is a type of malicious attack that can lead to disruption of normal traffic of a targeted server, service or network. This is achieved by flooding the target application or the related infrastructure with very heavy Internet traffic. Such attacks utilize multiple computer systems as sources of attack traffic to exploit. Machines such as computers, networked resources or IoT devices can get affected by DDoS attacks. Simply put, a DDoS attack prevents regular traffic from reaching the desired destination.
Well, how does Rubideum secure its platform from DoS and DDoS attacks? Rubideum has defense-grade security and the exchange is capable of thwarting attacks from different sources. For preventing DoS attacks, the IP addresses are blocked with ‘Rate Limits’, even before reaching the servers. Similarly, the DDoS attacks will be handled by proper monitoring of traffic from multiple sources. As DDoS attacks target an extensive range of resources including banks & exchanges, Rubideum has made extra efforts to keep hackers at bay who can access important information.
