Ukraine’s Other Counteroffensive: Drone Attacks on Russian Soil

in russiaukarinewar •  last year

There have been no official public displays or mentions of the third drone tracked by The Times. However, wreckage of the drone has been found at four attack locations inside Russia, including near Moscow. Clues about the drone come from Serhiy Prytula, an influential fundraiser who launched a "For Revenge" campaign for long-range kamikaze drones similar to Mr. Lachenkov's. Prytula's foundation has raised 251 million hryvnia, approximately $6.8 million, all dedicated to funding longer-range drone models. Ukrainian officials have implied that drone attacks on targets in Russia will continue, stating that the withdrawal of Russian occupation troops from Ukraine and the restoration of Ukrainian sovereignty is the only way to stop such attacks.

Ukrainian officials have indicated that drone attacks on targets in Russia will continue. Mr. Yusov, the spokesperson for G.U.R., stressed that the most effective means to stop these actions is the prompt withdrawal of Russian occupation forces from Ukraine and the restoration of Ukrainian sovereignty.
