Driving

The next stage was to create a comfortable driving position, I'm 6ft 2 and always find that If I want to be close to the steering wheel my legs are cramped and if I want my legs stretched then I'm too far from the wheel.

So I bought a deep dish wheel and a snap off boss to bring the wheel closer to my driving position. I also made a fixed seat frame to get the seating position as low down as possible.

I changed over most of the rear arms so that I can get the car to sit as low a possible.

I did encounter this little issue which was painfully resolved by cutting out some metal to allow for the play.

After fitting all the arms, the car was crabbing quite badly so I called a buddy and he re-aligned the car for me and I grabbed a quick snap after.

Styling wise the car was starting to take shape and I was quite happy with the direction it was headed in. Under the bonnet the car was still completely stock nothing done to the engine at all and I would keep it this way for as long as possible as nothing beats reliability.

A few weeks had passed and I decided to get ready to book a drift event at Santapod raceway and I decided it would be a good idea to fit some new coilovers and play with the height again.

After lowering another 30mm or so I was finally somewhat happy with the result and booked up the drift day.

The car performed and handled really well and it proved to me that you really can drift an s14 with standard power and a basic suspension setup.
