Tuesday breakfast was baked oatmeal, plain scrambled eggs, and bacon. I enjoyed a cup of coffee. There was no cream, so I had to make do with milk and honey, which means only a little bit of milk as too much tends to bother my digestive system.
Lunch happened a little here and there as we drove around admiring spectacular aspens. At some point I hope to post a picture in a separate post. I ate two sourdough bread sandwiches consisting of cheddar cheese, turkey cold cut and butter. I made the sandwiches at my home the day before so they had real butter. I also had a package of Frozen themed fruit snacks, a juice box. I also had a whole pear, some carrot sticks, and a bag of plain Frito Lay potato chips.
Enjoyed some decent conversation with my sister and spectacular views as we drove. At one of our stops I had a fall while holding the baby, which was scary. I slipped on some pine needles and went down on the arm that was holding him. We are very fortunate he did not hit his head. The impact of the fall was taken by my arm. I thought I'd be sore, but a day later there's no soreness. The baby was startled but completely physically unscathed, and we checked him all over for any sign of injury. Baby handled the car ride much better yesterday than he did the day before. The rest of the kids were getting very tired of the whole thing. My oldest kid said that driving around looking at aspens is a fun thing to do once a year. Aspen spotting in the fall is big around here. This is the first time I've done it in at least three years. I would have considered myself too busy to do it this time, but my sister invited me and set it all up and told me exactly what to bring.
Dinner was quite late, back at my place, and was cranberry chicken which my husband graciously put in the crock pot for us after I'd pulled it out of the freezer to thaw the day before.
Before dinner we took a walk outside while eating coconut Outshine popsicles. The kids definitely needed to run around. So we had a backwards meal. The kids promised me they'd all eat their chicken and they did.
Then came bedtime, which was quite a relief. But then I didn't sleep very well. I guess I was thinking about things, mostly at work. Over the weekend and yesterday I got some pieces of news concerning my work that I found troubling. Too complicated to go into here but I think it was preoccupying my thoughts. No, it's not anything that would threaten my job, more something I have to consider in my approach to my job.
OK, I think I remembered most of what I ate the past two days. I'll try to at least start a post about today, or save it for later. But at least I'm caught up for the time being.
Six days left.
